Future Games: Team Tennessee Outfielders

Colton Provey
Tennessee Director of Scouting

Team Tennessee's 2019 PBR Future Games experience was a great one, as the 2019 group finished the weekend 0-2-1 with tight games against the top talent from Mid-Atlantic, Missouri, and Kentucky. Although the team didn't get in the win column, Team Tennessee players made some serious impressions on the hundreds of college coaches in attendance at the event (320 to be exact). Over the next few days, Tennessee Scouting Director Colton Provey and PBR Tennessee staff will recap Team Tennessee’s weekend with notes and observations from the prospects in attendance, broken down by position group.

The 5-foot-10, 163-pound lefty outfielder displayed a variety of promising tools that project to the next level.  During the showcase, Jones posted Team Tennessee’s top 60 time plus a top four finish in exit velo.  Hitting in an athletic, balanced stance w/ simple load and great bat speed.  Jones impressed during BP w/ easy gap-to-gap power and balls jumping off the barrel.  Went 1 for 7 (2B) w/ 2 quality at bats in 7 plate appearances.  Jones also added a run and an RBI in game three.  Played all three outfields positions w/ great range and first jump.  Profile projects as true CF w/ smooth left-handed swing and premium speed.
