PITCHERS

2021 RHP/C Creed Willems (Aledo HS) has a strong, barrel-chested frame at 6-foot-1, 215-pounds. The right-hander topped out at 90 on the bump, sitting mostly 87-88, with a 78 mph curveball and 78-79 mph changeup. Working from a high-¾ slot with a quick arm stroke and tall-and-fall delivery, he creates good angle on his fastball, flashing sink to his arm side. Curveball has tight rotation with late break at times.

2021 RHP Cade Vestal (Frisco Liberty HS) is going to be fun to watch over the next couple of years. At 6-foot-2, approximately 200-pounds, the right-hander has a sturdy frame with a long arm swing from a ¾ slot that produces heavy bowling ball sink at 84-86 mph. Plus feel for a 71-72 mph breaker with 10/4 shape. The changeup is also plus with heavy arm side sink at 74-75 mph.

2021 LHP/OF Tyler Schott (Marcus HS) is a confident two-way player. On the mound, the left-hander works from a low-¾ slot with a quick arm swing. His fastball was 81-84 with arm side run, and he spins his breaking ball at 67-70 mph with 2/8 shape and more lateral break.

2020 RHP Reed Gallant (Marcus HS) 6-foot-1, 165-pounds. Works from a high slot with a long, quick arm swing with good hand speed out front. His fastball topped out at 86 mph, sitting mostly 83-85. His curveball flashes tight rotation with 12/6 shape at 70-72 mph. Changeup came in at 78-80.

2020 LHP Bristol Carson (Guyer HS) has a long-limbed, projectable pitcher’s frame at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds was 81-83 from a high-¾ slot with a clean arm swing and relative ease with a long stride and tilted shoulders down the mound, topping out at 84 mph. Curveball was 69-70 the first three times he threw it, but flashed a 75 from the stretch. Changeup is thrown close to fastball range at 77-82.

2020 RHP Caleb Cain (Heath HS) has a high-waisted, projectable pitcher’s frame at 6-foot-2, 175-pounds. The right-hander works from a high slot with a long arm swing, and quick hand out front with a high front side that allows him to create angle on on his fastball between 81-84 mph. Good hip mobility with a long stride down the mound and athletic finish. His curveball was only 66 mph, but flashed good 1/7 shape with downer break. Threw his changeup with fastball arm speed and heavy depth at 75-77 mph.

2020 RHP Collier Mershon (Marcus HS) has good feel for four pitches with a quick arm swing. Listed at 6-foot-2, 165-pounds, he still has plenty of room to fill out his young, projectable frame. Pumped strikes for the duration of his outing. More of an old school delivery with a high leg lift as he slightly coils at the top, then drives down the mound with a long stride. Fastball was 81-83 mph with some angle. Curveball has tighter rotation with late, short, 1/7 shape at 69-70 mph. Mixed in a changeup at 73-74, but his forkball is the equalizer.  He can throw in any count, with command and tumbling depth as it knuckles toward the plate, then drops off the table late at 69-70 mph.

2019 LHP/1B Jackson Braun (Grapevine Faith) has a strong, projectable frame at 6-foot-4, 204-pounds. The left-hander works from a high slot with a medium arm stroke and a tall-and-fall delivery. Low effort delivery, releases all three pitches from the same tunnel. His fastball topped out at 85 on the mound, sitting mostly 81-83, and he spun a 67-69 mph curveball with 1/7 shape. Changeup has arm side fade at 65-68 mph.

2020 OF/RHP Dawson Goheen (McKinney Boyd HS) has an athletic, quick twitch frame at 6-foot-1, 165-pounds. On the mound, the right-hander topped out at 85, pitching 81-84 with arm side life. His changeup has good arm side fade at 73-78 mph, and his curveball has short, late 10/4 break at 72-74 mph.

2021 1B/RHP Joshua Barnhouse (Prosper HS) has a very projectable, long-limbed pitcher’s frame at 6-foot-5, 210-pounds. Working from an over the top slot with a long arm swing, above average effort, long stride down the mound and above average effort, his fastball topped out at 83, sitting mostly 80-81 mph. Shows feel for spin with a 71-72 mph curveball and a 75-76 mph slider that acts like a cutter with late, lateral break. Could see him making a jump in the near future as he adds strength to his frame.
2021 LHP Micky Scheetz (Marcus HS) stands 6-foot, 155-pounds with a high-waisted, wiry frame. The left-hander works from a high-¾ slot with a quick hand out front. 2021 LHP Chandler Benson (Frisco Liberty HS) stands 5-foot-10, 160-pounds and has a clean arm swing with a low effort delivery that should allow his velocity to climb as he continues to mature physically. His fastball was 76-80 mph, but its easy to dream that there is more in the tank with natural maturation over the next few years. Good hip mobility with an athletic lower half finish. Curveball shows signs of becoming a solid pitch with 66 mph. Throws his changeup with fastball arm speed at 72 mph.

2021 RHP David Loza (Irving HS) is an intriguing prospect with a long-limbed, wiry frame at 6-foot-3, 160-pounds. Pitching predominantly from the stretch, the right-hander provides for a different look, working from a high slot, he gets inside his fastball, creating steep angle with arm side sink at 73-76 mph. His slider is a quality pitch with short, late, 11/5 break at 66-68 mph.

2020 RHP Hunter Davis (Marcus HS) stands 5-foot-8, 160-pounds. The right-hander has an athletic, drop-and-drive delivery with a long, quick arm swing from an over the top slot with above average effort. 2021 RHP Blake Sedatole (Frisco Wakeland HS) has an athletic frame at 6-foot-1, 165-pounds. The right-hander works from a low, side-arm slot with a directional delivery that allows him to create significant sink on his fastball at 70-73 mph. Heavy fade and depth on his changeup at 66 mph, and his slider serves as quality compliment with slurvey shape and lateral break at 67 mph.
