Mitchel Casperson, SS/RHP, LeSueur-Henderson, 2020
5-foot-9, 150-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. Casperson was in control of his athleticism in all facets of the workout, and was one of, if not the, top position player on the weekend. The 5-foot-9, 150-pounder began the day by running a 6.9 60-yard dash, and then showcased his balanced swing at the plate. The left-handed hitter utilizes a short stride to rock his hands easily down and back before working uphill through the zone. He showcased quickness to the ball on a direct path, and had some lag through the zone. I was impressed by how mature his round was. He was never rushed and didn’t try to do too much although the ball came off his bat well, and he projects for gap power in the future. In the field, he showed off natural hand play and a quick, strong arm across the diamond. His footwork was clean and he should only get better with more repetitions. Also utilizing his quick, whippy arm on the mound, Casperson worked his fastball up to 82 mph, and had feel for both his breaking ball (67-68) and changeup (75-76). Most intriguing about the young infielder is the fact that he is still growing, and the added strength that will come could vault him as a prospect moving forward.

Ben Dandelet, RHP/3B, Stillwater, 2020
6-foot-2, 170-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. The long, 6-foot-2, 170-pound right-hander appears to be another in what is becoming a long line of pitchers coming out of Stillwater High School. Still showing signs of more physical growth and filling out in the future, Dandelet worked 83-85 with a fastball that jumped through the zone. Throwing slightly over his front shoulder as he sat on his back side down the mound, Dandelet deceptively works linear down the mound. I was impressed with the adjustments that he made throughout the bullpen, especially with the breaking ball. The pitch worked 70-72, and featured sharper, slider type break on some occasions, but more 11/5 curveball break at others. He also showcased a changeup at 69-72. Given his long, loose arm and quick hand speed out front, Dandelet should have a chance to make another jump in the future.

Teddy Deters, SS/RHP, Orono, 2021
6-foot-1, 160-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.28 runner. Long athletic frame, square stance, body load with leg kick trigger, solid bat speed, loses posture at contact looking to elevate baseball, flashes pop in bat with hard pull side contact, 79 mph exit velocity. Choppy footwork, quick and covers ground laterally, sure hands, solid athleticism, accurate throws to bag, 78 mph arm across infield.

Jake Deutsch, SS, New Prague, 2020
5-foot-11, 160-pound right-handed hitting short-stop. 7.14 runner. Athletic frame, wide stance, knee to knee trigger, line drive swing plane, solid barrel skills, works middle of field with hard contact, 84 mph exit velocity. Solid actions, sure hands, clean exchanges, projectable arm action, 81 mph arm across infield. Has some long movements but should become more compact and repeatable with maturity and strength gains.

Henry Emmerich, 2B, Prior Lake, 2020
5-foot-11, 170-pound left-handed hitting second baseman. 7.15 runner. Square stance, body load, rolling shoulder rhythm, clean swing plane, produces solid bat speed, pull approach with fly ball and line drive contact, 85 mph exit velocity. Sure hands, works through ball, clean exchange, solid tempo but could play faster, accurate to bag from low arm slot, 76 mph arm across infield.

John Erickson, SS/RHP, Hudson (WI), 2020
5-foot-11, 180-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Lean athletic frame. 7.06 runner. Square stance, shoulder load with knee to knee trigger, aggressive swing with present strength, stiffer 2 hand finish through contact, flashes hard line drive and pull contact, gap to gap approach, 86 mph exit velocity. Sure hands in field, works through ball, above avg. arm, avg. footwork that should improve with instruction, flashes athleticism and actions in field, 88 mph arm across infield.

Kyle Feduccia, SS/RHP, Hopkins, 2020
5-foot-8, 150-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 6.95 runner. Tall stance, leg kick trigger, easy hand load, avg. balance in swing, spray contact, uses middle field, solid contact during round, 74 mph exit velocity. Easy actions in field, works through ball, confident fielder with soft hands, has body control with ability to throw from multiple slots, 75 mph arm across infield.

Zachary Fisher, SS, Rice Lake (WI), 2021
5-foot-6, 125-pound right-handed hitting short-stop. 7.69 runner. Square stance, crouches into hitting slot, stiffer swing plane, short through zone, spray contact, 67 mph exit velocity. Active feet, sure hands, tends to field deep into body, accurate arm to bag, 69 mph arm across infield.

Jack Foster, RHP/1B, Mankato West, 220
6-foot-5, 205-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Long frame with physicality and present strength. 6.9 runner. Raw athlete, tall stance, creates bat speed, early collapse in swing, flashes loud line drive contact, ability to barrel baseball, has pop in bat, 95 mph exit velocity. Heavier feet, sure hands, solid/avg. defender, short arm action, avg. accuracy on throws, 71 mph arm across infield.

Kolby Gartner, SS/RHP, St. Michael-Albertville, 2020
6-foot-2, 180-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.02 runner. Tall stance, easy leg kick and hand load, repeats swing well, line drive swing plane, shows ability to elevate baseball, present strength, consistent hard mid/pull contact and is a bat to follow in MN 2020 class, 93 mph exit velocity. Works through ball, solid footwork, softer hands, longer exchange and release, solid accuracy to bag, 83 mph arm across infield.

Joseph Glampe, 3B, Northfield, 2020
5-foot-11, 170-pound right-handed hitting third baseman. 7.27 runner. Open stance, shifts weight into back leg with shoulder turn load, transfers weight through contact, barrels baseball consistently, shows flashes of pop in bat to middle of field, 84 mph exit velocity. Sure hands, tends to sit back to field, avg. footwork and actions, solid accuracy to bag, 72 mph arm across infield.

Austin Gordon, SS, Prior Lake, 2020
6-foot, 170-pound right-handed hitting short-stop. 6.88 runner. Physical athletic build. Open stance and strides to square, deeper hand slot, drives through ball with extension through contact, uses whole field, hard contact with projectable pop in bat, 87 mph exit velocity. Active feet in field, works low and out front, sure hands, inconsistent footwork that will continue to improve, 77 mph arm across infield.

Dustan Green, SS, Prior Lake, 2021
5-foot-9, 155-pound right-handed hitting short-stop. 7.53 runner. Square stance, body load, stiffer hands, line drive swing plane, shows hard contact when out front, gap to gap approach, 81 mph exit velocity. Aggressive fielder, higher fielding position, plays fast, sure hands, fields underneath body occasionally, accurate to bag on throws, 70 mph arm strength across infield.

Logan Grimm, RHP/1B, Mounds View, 2021
6-foot-1, 170-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.82 runner. Square stance, body load, steep uphill plane, ability to barrel baseball, flashed hard fly ball contact to middle of field, 84 mph exit velocity. Sure hands, avg. tempo and rhythm, long exchange on throws, solid around bag, 71 mph arm strength.

Thomas Gross, SS/RHP, Minnetonka, 2020
6-foot-2, 160-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Gross’ frame stands out as he is lean and athletic with long limbs, and moves well on the field. He had a natural rhythm to his swing with shorter hands load back with a leg kick. His direct path to the ball was on a flat plane, and he showed the ability to hit line drives from gap to gap without being out of control, and posted a 91 mph exit velocity. With solid hands and a strong arm (86 mph across infield), he should have a chance to stick on the left side of the diamond moving forward. Given his frame at 6-foot-2, 170-pounds, he has the look of a pitcher when he hops on the mound. He was up to 84 mph with his fastball without much use of his lower-half, and his quick arm combined with his athleticism should allow him to continue to progress in the future.

Blake Gulden, LHP/1B, Wayzata, 2020
6-foot-1, 160-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.65 runner. Square stance, body load, longer stride with deep hand load, some length to contact, barrel works out and around at contact, ground ball and line drives, mid/pull approach, 81 mph exit velocity. Solid footwork, works around and through ball, comfortable around bag, shows soft hands, clean arm action, 76 mph arm across field.

Josh Gullickson, SS/RHP, Wayzata, 2020
6-foot-2, 170-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.7 runner. Open stance, knee to knee trigger, inverted plane, spins off at contact, shows solid contact on pitches middle/in, 81 mph exit velocity. Clean playable arm with accuracy and carry, solid defender, avg. range, sure hands, 83 mph arm across infield.

Miles Halligan, RHP/3B, Hopkins, 2020
#337 ranked player in PBR 2020 Overall Rankings. 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Halligan is an interesting follow moving forward as he possesses a long-limbed, 6-foot-1, 190-pound, developing frame, and a strong right arm. He worked mostly 84-86 with his fastball throughout his bullpen session, and showed some feel for a downward breaking, 11/5 curveball (71-73). The effortless velocity that he showed should only rise in the future as he continues to add muscle to his durable frame. Halligan ran a 7.75 60, 83 mph exit velocity, and was 82 mph across infield. Square stance, knee to knee trigger, shoulder load and leans over plate, lower hand slot, lift in swing plane, stiffer hands but solid preset strength with flashes of pop in bat. Sure hands in field, clean quick exchange, easy arm action, avg. tempo and rhythm, solid overall actions with accuracy and carry to bag.

Jett Heinen, 3B/RHP, Prior Lake, 2020
5-foot-10, 180-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.37 runner. Square stance, weight shift back with shoulder turn load, produced consistent hard line drive contact, stays in middle of field with quality gap to gap approach, 86 mph exit velocity. Good tempo, aggressive to ball and works through, sure hands, heavier feet, throws have carry and accuracy to bag, 84 mph arm across infield.

Jonah Hoeg, 1B/RHP, Prior Lake, 2020
6-foot-1, 210-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.57 runner. Open stance with body load and strides square, easy hand load, line drive swing plane with lift through contact, shows ability to use whole field, hard contact, and has pop in bat, 89 mph exit velocity. Shows above avg. actions at first, works through ball, active feet, comfortable around bag, with arm strength at position, 78 mph arm across infield.

Teyghan Hovland, SS/RHP, Austin, 2021
6-foot-4, 195-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Long athletic frame, 7.33 runner. Square stance, short to contact, lacks extension through zone, tends to fall away from contact, flashed occasional hard line drive contact, 77 mph exit velocity. Athletic in field, plays through ball, higher fielding position, accurate arm, sure hands, some raw qualities but has enough athleticism to continue to develop, 80 mph arm strength across infield.

Joseph Hurth, RHP/3B, Hopkins, 2020
6-foot-2, 175-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. The ball seemed to come right from Hurth’s ear as he pumped fastballs through the zone at 83-85. Stepping well across his body, Hurth released out of a high ¾ slot with a short, strong arm. He shows more intent than effort out front, and his hand works quickly through the ball. He featured a split-finger type changeup at 76-78 and an interesting breaking ball (70-72) that he threw with fastball hand speed and had shorter break. At 6-foot-2, 182-pounds, he shows some developing strength throughout, and should continue filling out in the future. On the field; Hurth ran a 7.4 60, posted a 88 mph exit velocity, and was 84 mph across infield. Rolling hand load into longer stride, creates bat speed, stiffer finish through contact, shows solid pop to pull side of field, active feet, works through ball, plays uptempo in field, hands are slightly stiff but sure, shows ability to make plays, with accuracy and carry to bag on throws.

Jordon Huwe, SS, Lakeville North, 2020
5-foot-8, 120-pound right-handed hitting short-stop. 7.65 runner. Athletic frame, open stance, easy load to square, length to contact with arm bar, consistent solid line drives, gap to gap approach, follow bat in class with maturity and strength gains, 68 mph exit velocity. Light on his feet, shows above avg. hands, works through ball, clean projectable arm action, 76 mph arm across infield.

Brayden Jacobson, 2B/RHP, West Fargo (ND), 2021
5-foot-8, 145-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 6.87 runner. Square stance, easy stride, some length to contact with arm bar in load, solid bat speed, line drive swing plane, barrels baseball well with gap to gap approach, 86 mph exit velocity. Has athleticism in field, clean hands, works through ball, ability to throw from multiple slots with quick release and accuracy to bag, 77 mph arm strength across infield.

5-foot-8, 145-pound left-handed hitting short-stop. 7.38 runner. 6-foot, 192-pound switch hitting 2-way player. 8.64 runner. Slight open stance with knee to knee trigger, generates bat speed, shows pop in bat, some length to contact but drives ball well to pull side of field, 81 mph exit velocity. Solid/avg. actions at first, fields routine, accurate arm, 75 mph arm across infield.

Cade Lommel, LHP/1B, Delano, 2020
6-foot-2, 185-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. The velocity isn’t there yet, but as was seen from some big velocity jumps at the event, a year can bring on a lot of change. Lommel has wide shoulders on his long-limbed, 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame. The southpaw has an elastic arm that produces some whip before releasing out of a high ¾ slot. He has a clean, repeatable delivery stepping slightly across his body releasing with normal effort and eyes that try to remain fixed on the glove. His fastball worked 78-80 with some natural arm side life, and it looks like there could be much more on the way given how freely the whole delivery plays. HIs secondary offerings are still more developing pitches including a slider at 70-72 and changeup at 70-71. However, given his long frame and loose left arm, Lommel looks like a pitcher that some schools will want to follow moving forward. As a position player Lommel ran a 7.82 60, was 78 mph across the infield, and produced a 70 mph exit velocity. Slight leg kick with choppy rhythm, consistently works the middle of field with spray contact, moves around first with ease, shows athleticism, and has loose easy actions as a defender.

Andrew Mahlke, 3B/RHP, Chanhassen, 2020
6-foot, 180-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.76 runner. Solid first step, solid actions, high fielding position, stiffer hands, long release on throws, 78 mph arm across infield.

Bennett McCollow, SS, Bloomington Jefferson, 2021
5-foot-8, 152-pound right-handed hitting short-stop. 7.21 runner. Open stance, easy hand load with leg kick trigger, above avg. extension through contact, shows ability to drive baseball with bat speed, gap to gap approach and is one of better bats in MN 2021 class, 85 mph exit velocity. Sure hands, works through baseball, tends to move with choppy steps, good angles to field with clean exchange, accelerates through baseball and creates direction to throw, accurate to bag, 77 mph arm across infield.

Logan Meyer, SS/RHP, Totino-Grace, 2020
6-foot-1, 170-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.26 runner. Square stance, rolling hand load, steep uphill plane, lacks extension through contact, inconsistent bp but flashed hard contact to middle of field, 78 mph exit velocity. Sure hands, works through ball, tends to stop when fielding, heavier feet, long arm action, accurate to bag, 74 mph arm across infield.

Jack Steil, SS, Rocori, 2020
Though he was a bit banged up and unable to throw on the day, Steil still stood out. A physical specimen with lean strength throughout his 6-foot-2, 195-pound frame, the right-handed hitter exhibited natural feel for the barrel while remaining balanced throughout his round of batting practice. He produced an exit velocity of 95 mph off the tee, and the ball seemed to jump off his bat with minimal effort. His barrel lags in the zone on a flat path, and while the hands get a bit stagnant with his leg kick he makes up for it with advanced strength through the zone. A 6.95-runner, Steil showcased solid actions on the infield although he was not throwing. His frame may outgrow his listed, shortstop position, but he should continue to develop even more power moving forward which should make him a viable third base candidate. Overall, Steil is one of the more physical players in the class, and will likely be followed closely by recruiters throughout the summer.
