Top-10 Profiles of 2020: No. 9 Brady Counsell
December 17, 2020
As the year starts to unwind, our staff will start to highlight the top-10 most viewed profiles from 2020 –starting at 10 and counting down.
Today we’ll look at Whitefish Bay’s Brady Counsell, the No. 26-ranked recruit in Wisconsin’s senior class. We saw Counsell start to scratch his ceiling this summer and there’s still a lot to like with what he could look like offensively in a few years, especially as he starts to fill out a wiry 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame. Our last live look at Counsell came this summer at the PBR at The Rock 17U Championships, and here’s what one of our staff writers had to say about his performance that weekend:
“2B/SS Brady Counsell (Whitefish Bay, 2021) put a stamp on a really productive, important summer as an uncommitted and rising prospect. Counsell was a late-bloomer as he grew into his lean, lanky 6-foot, 160-pound frame, but he's really begun to show all of the necessary actions to profile up the middle at the next level all while still projecting to add more to his right-handed bat. His offense is one thing that showed well this weekend (and in multiple PBR-affiliated looks this summer), and he's trending up at just the right time.”
Counsell will look to be an impact player in the Big Ten, as he’s committed to the University of Minnesota. His high floor as a prospect coupled with an upside offensive profile could make him a valuable asset for the Golden Gophers on the diamond.
