10.14.18- Really showed significant improvement from earlier times we saw him in the summer. Carried himself very well and was composed on the mound. Really attacked hitters and created good down plan on his pitches attacking the bottom half of the zone. Fastball was 79-81 mph but looked a little quicker and got on hitters. The breaking ball was upper 60’s and showed over the top depth.Really worked quick between pitchers, ready to make the next pitch. Has the frame to carry additional weight which should translate to more velocity.
Carson Granberry (2020 RHP/OF, Auburn HS) 6’2 165 lbs 6.5.18- Offensively, had a nice middle approach to his BP round. Stayed short and connected all the way through contact. Defensively, was 80 mph from the OF with good footwork tracking balls. On the mound, sat 76-78 and touched 80 mph. Hides the ball well and has a lanky frame. Will add more velocity once he adds strength. Curveball was effective at 66-68. Changeup showed to be an above average pitch at 69-72.
Carson Granberry (2020, OF/RHP, Auburn) 6’2 165 lbs- 7.10.18- ran the 60 in 7.72 and tracked balls very well in the OF and had good feet before and after the catch with clean arm action and an OF velocity of 78 mph. At the plate, he showed an exit velocity 76 and has primarily a gap to gap approach with power to both gaps. On the mound, he has long arm action with a FB that sat 78-79 and topped at 80 mph. His changeup was down in the zone at 74-75 and his breaking ball was 62-63 with tight spin and down action.
