Is a name that we know very well and he continues to shine with the bat. During the 3 game set, Strachan was 3-9 with a 2B but delivered two of the bigger hits in the series for the Senators. In Game 1 Strachan led off the bottom of the 7th inning with a double as he got a first pitch fastball that he did not miss on. The Senators soon ended Game 1 with the win. In the bottom of the 4th inning of the deciding Game 3 and the Senators facing a 1-0 deficit, Strachan came through again as he got a fastball on the outer half of the plate and promptly singled to right field to ties things up at 1-1. The Senators would go on to win 2-1. Strachan continues to handle all zones with the barrel.

3B Ryan Strachan (2023) is quickly becoming one of the premier bats in the state 2023 class. Perhaps no hitter in his class has made as much of a stride this season than the sophomore 3B. The obvious improvement appears to be a serious feel for the hitting zone and advanced plate discipline as he very rarely chases out of the zone. When seeing Strachan, he has drawn a ton of walks by simply laying off tough pitches out of the zone. Once again Tuesday night, he walked twice and. In his first at-bat, Strachan missed a HR by a few feet as he hammered and 88 mph fastball on the inner half of the plate. In his last at-bat of the night, the sophomore got a breaking ball on the inner half and simply stayed back and served it to LF for a single. We have seen Strachan handle pitches on the outer half as well, driving balls to the backside gap with juice. Hitting third in this Senator lineup says a lot about his propensity to hit.

Strachan has really elevated his game as his sophomore season has gotten off to a fantastic start. The sophomore has shown that he can generate juice to all fields and can do so versus high end arms. In his first at bat of the night, Strachan did a nice job of staying short with the barrel and sent a solid single back up the middle against a 90 mph fastball. The approach is simple and the bat path is direct to contact. What is also impressive with Strachan is that he has consistently shown to be a very discipled hitter and very rarely chases out of the zone. On Tuesday night he drew 2 walks in addition to lining out to shortstop in his other at bat as he put together 4 quality at-bats.

'23 3B/RHP Ryan Strachan seems to be projecting very well and has also changed his body and looks to be slimmer while adding some definite strength. Very disciplined approach at the plate and seems to very rarely chase out of the zone. As has been the case in the numerous times we have seen, shows a definite middle of the field to the backside gap approach. Got an elevated fastball middle to away and hammered it to the backside gap for a triple. Does a nice job keeping the barrel through contact.
