This was my third look at the LH hitting 1B from Chaminade, and he has soundly developed on his original solid foundation from those previous looks. Most notable in this look was the change to his frame that previously was strong, but bulky in look, with some stiffness to his movements. Chute has leaned down across the frame, but still maintains present strength with a more fluid movement profile on defense and in the box. The swing has loosened up from a previously overly connected turn with less adjustability to one that has some hand separation at the start to allow him to use his hands more to adjust to pitches across the width and height of the plate. The separation is allowing him to utilize the opposite gap of the field with more quality contact instead of pushing the ball that way. Both of his hits came on line drives to the opposite gap vs. pitches on the outer half of the plate. Improvements to the hit profile to go along with the strength and power that come with his bat speed and frame are giving Chute a more well-rounded offensive profile that can eventually slot towards the middle of the lineup at the next level.
