Arm Action: Similar to the infield, the arm action is relatively short and very quick. He gets into a clean scapula retraction which gets him set up to deliver the arm on time at foot strike. Arm comes through clean which allows for a healthy deceleration pattern.

At the plate Heistand shows fast hands with strong feel for the barrel and the ability to drive the ball to all fields. Fast hands that he keeps inside the ball after dropping them into launch slot. Quick rotation with the hips/shoulders enhances the bat speed. At shortstop, Heistand shows fair range to both sides and possesses soft hands with clean exchanges. Throwing motion can get a little long, but possesses enough arm strength to make throws from multiple angles. Footwork is fluid with fair range to both sides. Instinctive defender who gets rid of the ball quickly. On the mound Heistand shows a clean, loose arm from a high-3/4 slot. Delivery is deliberate through to an out front release point. Fastball shows some life as it enters the zone. Shows command of the pitch. Curveball is a sharp, late biting pitch with 12/6 shape. Command of the pitch was erratic. Changeup shows late movement back to the arm side and shows fair command of the pitch. Slider looks a lot like his curveball but with downer break and movement.
