10/27-10/29/18 - NCTB Fall Classic - Lean wiry strong, showing space for added strength. Showed middle of the field approach with flashes of raw pull power (94 exit velocity) during BP working with a compact swing that shows intent and high leg lift for timing. Bat has high finish with quickness through the zone; showed in game with regular hard contact including game with multiple hits, with a lively swing trigger and fast hands. Middle infield actions with enough arm (84 mph) to stay on left side as his frame strengthens up; not the quickest feet and smaller range add to future 3rd base profile. Better runner underway rather than initial burst. Started first game on the loud working 4-pitch mix. Fastball 78-81 mainly upper half of the zone. Curveball 60-62 with short actions; limited feel in outing and discarded pitch for slider (68-69 mph) with short angle and lateral break; mainly used glove side during outing. Changeup flashed during warmups with some heaviness off the fastball, but rarely used during outing.
10/7/18 - Central Coast Open - 5-foot-11, 165-pounds, fairly long and lean body type with some present strength and projects to be bigger and stronger. Athleticism showed up more in baseball skills than as a straight line runner. At the plate swung a very strong bat from an open stance. Even hands work into back shoulder and lift barrel to no-stride before very quick hands work on a lofted angle through the ball (92 MPH exit velo). Very strong intent with each swing and shows strength to the gaps with flashes where he spins off the ball. From infield showed more of a 3rd base frame and body type with ability to play utilizing high hips and even feet. Arm works from different angles and can be a bit of a low slot sling arm action (75 MPH).
