A 6-foot, 175-pound frame with room to add size and strength. On the mound, the left-hander works from a slightly up-tempo delivery with rhythm and a high leg kick that he repeats very well. Arm action is long, fluid, and loose in the back before coming through a high-¾ slot with quickness. Fastball sits 81-83 mph with occasional cut to the glove side and run to the arm side. Curveball shows big 1/7 shape at 63-64 mph. Changeup has good fade and late sink with deception. In the game, Routh threw almost every pitch where he wanted striking out four of the five batters he faced and never throwing more than one ball to any batter.
A 6-foot,175-pound lean frame with wiry strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a quiet, open and slightly knock-kneed set-up. Uses a smooth load and short stride before launching his hands on a flat path through extension with bat speed and strength. In BP, shows a middle of the field and flat approach with occasional lift, some barrels, 91 mph exit velo. Runs a 6.88 second 60. Defensively, shows clean and deliberate actions at first base. Throws from a long arm stroke coming through a high-¾ slot with excellent accuracy at 78 mph across the diamond. In the game, went 1-for-3 with a walk and a line-drive single to left.
