10/7/18 - Central Coast Open - Uncommitted, long and lanky, outstanding body type, really a prototypical body type. Large frame that could add more strength without taking away from profile. On the mound works with a simple delivery where he shows a slight knee lift and tuck while slightly turning before quickly rotating down the hill; throws his front arm and glove at the catcher adding some deception with the high front elbow. Quick easy long arm that looks like it has more coming before getting to mid-3/4 release point. Good rhythm and timing with lower body working well. Confident pitcher. Fastball (81-83 mph) with some riding life on occasion, arm speed is better than the velocity he was reaching. Slider is a good pitch (68-72 mph) that he threw with feel, big sweeping action capable of getting swings and misses, occasionally had late bite. Change-up (73-75 mph) also a quality offering and potentially a plus offering for him. Threw it with well above average feel, buried it with late diving action.
6/1/18 @ BAWS 2018 - Long and lanky with plenty of room to continue to fill out a highly projectable and prototypical pitcher's 6-foot-5 205-pound body. Simple delivery with early opening of shoulder down the hill; 3/4 release with longer arm action and slinger as arm stays wide. When arm is out of glove in rhythm, more control and ability to use all pitches for strikes. Fastball 78-81 mph, small cut to glove side and straight to arm side; more life when going up in the zone. Change-up 71-73 mph, small arm side run off his fastball look; times where he could really make ball dive at plate. Slurvy curveball 67-71 mph, 10/4 shape with 3/4 action and 2-level depth; pitch had late action through the zone and ability to buckle hitters knees. Used pitch for multiple K’s. Large frame has ability to develop late as body functions start to click.
