V Leigh - Uncommitted. Large, strong and physical wide frame with length in his limbs; easily passes the eye test. Continues to show a strong hit tool with the athleticism to play in OF at the next level. Balanced stance with bend in knees keeping hands even and flared elbows. Hands pull tight to the body with slight knee tuck before controlled stride. Hands follow the shoulders with good tilt over the plate allowing bat to show acceleration through the zone; consistently in a strong hitting position tracking ball to the barrel. Strength is apparent in wrists/hands as he has the ability to not square up the ball and still have it jump off the bat. Athletic and loose stride showing length and ability to get big legs moving quickly (4.19 H-1st, 4.84T) when needing to take a base or close on the ball. Good reads in RF with arm profiling better in LF showing some carry to the bags. Two-sport athlete who just seems to be tapping into his potential as a baseball player. Hit tool has consistently shown up when I’ve seen him play with future power potential.

At Santa Teresa - Uncommitted. Large frame that is strong and athletic; frame passes the eye test with wide shoulders that are sloped and rounded with a tight waist. At the plate, stands wide and tall keeping hands high away from his back shoulder with flared elbows. Leans into back hip as front foot shows a controlled lift. Hands work back and down having compact swing work on a slight upward path with hands having limited waisted motion from load to fire. Showed very good bat-to-ball skills while having great AB’s and battling off pitchers’ pitches before hammering mistakes. Middle of the field approach as he reached base 4 times in the game and shows athleticism out of the box. 3rd AB was perfect example as he fouled off 4-5 pitches before getting a pitch up driving it into LCF gap letting his speed show up (4.5T) as he cruised into 2nd without a throw. Same athleticism played in RF as corner spot probably best for him. Arm plays in both corner OF spots and possibly the right side of the INF. Pitched last two innings with FB 77-79 MPH while also showing a short SLD and CHG that flashed short arm-side run.
