8/5/15 - Hit hard line drives to the middle of the field with a loose, easy swing when he had everything in sync. During defensive workouts, he showed an average arm that could become plus with added strength down the road.

8-15-2018: Another talented Sun Devil in the Cape this summer, Aldrete was a last minute substitution for the Home Run Derby. He proceeded to win the entire thing, beating his college teammate Spencer Torkelson who had outhomered him during the spring season 25 to three. In batting practice Aldrete showed a loose swing while setting up in a relaxed and upright stance. Used his lower half well with good hip rotation. His above average raw power in BP did not fully transfer to the games. Lengthened his swing, became pull-happy and struggled identifying off speed pitches, especially changeups, while chasing fastballs up and out of the zone. A versatile defender with an average arm, he played left field and both second and third base this summer. Ran below average down the line; 4.46 on a groundout to third base. Aldrete finished the Cape season with a respectable .252/.312/.433 slash with five home runs and 40 strikeouts in 139 plate appearances. (Seifert)
