Orange County Preseason All-State - strong build with a sturdy lower half in a 6-foot-2 220 pound frame. Showed good presence on the mound and mature overall feel for pitching. Repeatable mechanics created a consistent high ¾ arm slot and arm action leading to command of the zone with consistent results. Fastball showed some downward plane at 85-86 mph and was able to locate the pitch to both sides of the plate. Curveball spun more like a slurve at 73 mph but lacked swing and miss action. Change-up featured consistent fade and sink at 74-78 mph and a looked like his fastball out of the hand. Command and feel for pitching give this sturdy pitcher starter potential and the ability to pitch deep into games.

SoCal Preseason All-State - 6-foot-2, 215 pounds, big-bodied right-hander with lower half strength and room for growth. Tall and fall mechanical base, releases ball from a high three-quarter arm slot, average arm speed, loose arm action and an inline finish with the occasional cross landing forcing him to fall off towards the first-base side. Fastball flashed heavy arm side run with above-average high school command. Released curveball at the same arm speed as fastball and flashed sharp breaking action at a 12/6 plane. Change-up showed good speed differential and arm side run and fade.

SoCal Preseason All-State Quick Hits - Seward, the 47th ranked player in the state in his class, continues to impress on the mound where his loose, easy, and repeatable arm actions should make him a desirable recruit come springtime. Shows very good feel for the changeup that fades away from lefties with sharp, diving action. His slider has plus pitch potential while his command of the fastball is very good. At the plate he drove some balls to the gaps on a line registering an 84 mph exit velocity.

SoCal Underclass Games - Six-foot-2, 215-pounds, extra-large frame with noticeable strength in the lower half. Shoulders, chest and midsection have room to add strength and mass. Shows some rhythm to his delivery that starts with a high left leg lift and a modest shoulder turn. Seward appears to cup the ball a bit making it even more difficult to pick up out of his hand. Arm is fast from a full circle in the back through to his ¾ slot. Lands inline with the occasional cross-body landing causing him to fall off to first base. Fastball shows heavy 2-seam cut action on a downhill plane that he worked at or below the knees consistently. Four seam fastball shows run to the arm side which he's able to command at 85-86 mph. Curveball has plus pitch potential presently. It flashes late, hard break in a 12/6 shape that he drops in on hitters from the same arm speed as his fastball and commands for strikes. Threw the pitch seven times against five hitters getting swing-and-miss on five of them.
