Despite high-level production throughout his career at Bradley – First team All-MVC in 2021 after batting .366 and slugging .549 – the California native remains one of the most underrated hitters in the Midwest. Currently slashing .398/.466/.646 with 10 doubles and six home runs, he's an intelligent hitter who doesn't get cheated at the plate. Before he gets to two strikes he is looking to damage the baseball to his pull side with a rotational, around the ball swing. However, with two strikes he shows an advanced approach and the right handed hitter crowds, crouches and looks to hit the ball hard back up the middle. The 6-foot-1, 195-pounder's other tools are playable but he's limited to first base defensively due to below average arm strength and restricted lateral movements. O'Brien is currently 34th in the country in batting average and his lone tool – his bat – should be enough for Day Three consideration this July.
The Braves top position prospect for 2022 is Connor O'Brien. The right handed hitter was selected first team All-MVC in 2021 after batting .366 and slugging .549. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound first baseman is a product of the baseball factory, also known as Rancho Bernardo High School in San Diego, CA. At the plate he hits with power to all fields and moves really well around the bases. However, his below average arm strength and restricted lateral movements limit him defensively to first base or left field.
