9/28/19

XL Lanky frame having space to add weight (7.71 60yd). Very tall, high hands set up at the plate; simple toe tap with hands working back. Barrel shows upwards path with head staying behind the barrel; able to adjust barrel to work both sides of the field (91 EV). More power in the swing when he gets into the lower half more consistently; shot linedrive into both gaps. Very compact high release throws showing accuracy; big frame moves well and able to get low with his glove (70 INF).

8/17/19

PBR CA STATE GAMES - XL frame that is very long and continuing to add strength to it. Stays tall with high hands using slight hand load and hitting over a strong frontside. Barrel showed length and ability to square up the baseball when on time; picking up a hit through the 6-hole. Swing can continue to work with its length for more consistent hard contact. Moves well at 1st with the footspeed to stick at the position and using his length well to help infielders.

1/5/19 - SoCal preseason All-State. Uncommitted. 6-foot-5, 190-pounds. Tall, large frame, narrow chest, long arms and legs with high waist. Plenty of room to add muscle and core strength. Offensively his weight transfer was getting stuck often rotating on front leg and ankle putting him off balance at times. Shows the ability to keep his barrel path on a consistent plane through the hitting zone. Hands are average in speed not always allowing him to get the barrel on inside pitches. Displayed average arm on throws across the diamond. Excellent awareness and consistent footwork around the bag at first base.

10/17/18 - Munro has taken his commitment to the weight room seriously and the results are beginning to show themselves in a big way. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Munro has gone from soft around the edges to a firmer version of the guy that attended the SoCal Underclass Trials back in June. He looks leaner, stronger, and more prepared to compete for a starting job on a loaded team.

8/1/18 - SoCal Underclass Games - Six-foot-4, 190-pound, large frame with wiry strength. Long limbs. Has some present power that he creates with good use of the lower half. Shows present bat speed which projects with continued physical maturation. Hands are quick-to-fast through the hitting zone with a controlled barrel that remains on path. Gets extension post contact. Shows good plate coverage. Had a home run to LCF in batting practice. Hammered a ball to left field on FB in during the game. At first base his arm shows some strength and accuracy. Footwork is fluid. Reads hops well.

6/12/18 - 6-foot-3 185-pounds, tall, lean, strong bodied with lots of room to add strength. Broad shouldered, long limbed with big feet. Munro has the look of a prototypical first baseman with his size, strength and current power. Munro shows good actions around the bag where he plays light on his feet and has a strong, accurate arm across the diamond. His exchanges are clean and his glovework is above average. At the plate is where Munro separated himself beginning with his 89 mph exit velocity off a tee. Starting from an even stance Munro takes a step to widen his base from which he uses his hands to whip the barrel through on a slightly uppercut path through the zone resulting in consistent barrel connection. Partially uses his lower half as his swing is more arms than lower half. Despite that he has present gap-to-gap power that projects to over-the-fence power once he matures physically.
