4/3/18 - Uncommitted. Perez continues to show strong tools that will make him a coveted recruit in short order. Defensively the arm plays now as it consistently produces online throws with carry that routinely hit the first baseman in the center of the chest. Perez's footwork is advanced for a freshman and shows range to his left and the ability to charge the ball while under control with plenty of arm to make all the throws. Offensively is where Perez separates himself. Using his strong build, Perez generates power from a short-to-the-ball swing that has a slight uppercut path. It's a compact swing, but carries a lot of pop. On the day Perez was 2-for-3 with a double and a single, both of which he took to right center field on a line.

2/24/18 - Uncommitted. 5-foot-7, 140-pound frame. Lean, square-shouldered, proportional frame that projects to add strength. Athletic, versatile player that can play anywhere on the infield and pitches too. Offensively, Perez uses a neutral stance with hands in a power position at this shoulders. Has fast hands that allow him to catch up to pitches on the inner half as demonstrated by his line-drive to right field on a pitch on the inner black. Shows advanced discipline and pitch recognition. Doesn't chase bad pitches. Was not fooled in three at-bats. Defensively, Perez played third base and held his own in the few chances he had. Charged the ball and made a strong throw across the diamond on one. Positions himself well and is ready for the ball on the pitch. Average runner, Perez was clocked 4.41 home-to-first.
