Event: California State Games
Positional Profile
: INF/OF
Physical
: 6-3, 185-pounds; 7.44 60-yard, 4.18 30-yard split, 2.00 10-yard split, 27” vertical jump. Long and rangy, wide shoulders, lean strength now with frame to hold much more size and strength gains.
Offensively: RHH. EV max – 99 mph (93.8 avg), estimated distance max – 378 ft, hand speed max – 25 mph (24.1 avg), bat speed max – 77.5 (72 avg); Impact bat talent showed in BP and then backed it LOUDLY in game action with a HR and additional extra base hits/loud contact, ability to barrel balls on consistent basis at high velocities, appears to have both ability to hit for average and power, gets barrel into zone quickly and keeps in zone through contact, relaxed set-up, narrow feet, tall, barrel whips with life after starting with a deeper load.
Defensively: INF mph – 82, OF mph – 89; Efficient footwork, soft hands, quick funnel to waist, has arm angle versatility, gets ball out quickly with what would appear to be an accurate baseball clock in his head; calm and smooth approach in OF, fields out front and quickly gets ball underway with a strong arm.

Delivery: Composed athletic delivery, has body control, strong over rubber, lifts with composure, traditional lift and separate, lower body provides stability as arm comes through.
Arm Action: Fairly compact on backside, just below waist into arm circle, good timing to be able to get on top of ball, aggressive arm stroke getting to an overhand release.
FB: T88.9, 87-89 mph velo range, 2477 max spin (2359 avg); Crisp life through zone, seemed most comfortable on the glove side.
CH: 75-77 mph, 1823 avg spin.

Carpentier is another quality player coming out of Huntington Beach HS. His athleticism shined in both his OF and INF workout and showed he can handle the bat in BP, but he really impressed on the mound. His mid-80s FB paired well with his SL as both came out of the same slot, had consistent arm speed, and had + spin.
