Game Performance

Notes

Comments

7/11/21

Body: Well proportioned body, with already some mature physical attributes.  5’11”, 170 pounds.  Physical player as well.

Hit: Wide stance, for balance.  Hands in a high position, little to no movement.  Easy leg kick to engage hips and hands in ready position.  Hands move quick to the ball and through the middle of the field

Power:  Max exit velo off the bat 94.45 mph

Arm: With a short arm action release, follow through with all throws, velo 76 mph

Defense:  Easy movements, good feet, gets to the ball and settles with the glove out in front.  Funnels ball to middle, hands break in time, always works through target.

Run:  Ran a 7.31 (60 yard)

9/07/20

Bay Area World Series 2020 (BAWS) - Uncommitted; Two things stood out, his outstanding play around the bag on multiple picks on short hops that were well above average in difficulty level. Offensively he's got some thump, grinded out ABs vs quality pitching & projects to hit in college and do so in the middle of a line-up.

8/15/20

Defense: Positions himself well with a sound prep step, backhand and forehand actions are average, lateral quickness works at 3B/2B.
Arm: RH.  INF - 74 mph.  Arm strength is slightly below-average, 74 mph across the diamond. Gets rid of the ball fairly quickly. Actions and reads coupled with arm strength might be best suited for second base at the next level.
Hit: RHH. Athletic stance with high hands and wide elbows, hands stay at shoulder height with quiet front foot stride. Hands work quickly with barrel to ball approach.  Passes the eye test offensively, punished an inside fastball for a double. Level, quick and even through the zone. Elite Blast Motion metrics; 77/80 connection score, 24.2 g rotational acceleration (5th overall) , 84% on-plane efficiency.
Power: 95 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Run: 7.32 runner in the 60.

1/11/20

Central Valley Preseason ID:

8.00 60yd, 69 INF, 89 EV

5-10, 200 sturdy frame with strength in upper half and shoulders; frame can still shape a bit showing some projection. Crouched stance with high hands and wide elbows; hands stay at back shoulder with quiet front foot stride before hands work under shoulders quickly through the zone. Barrel has a short arc behind the body getting on plane and working upwards through contact; really quick and powerful swing showed his ability to drive the ball through the OF on a firm line. Early prep step to get around the ball fielding off glove side foot in time with body as he keeps posture through the baseball; arm has wider mid-slot release allowing him to keep throws online across the diamond. With frame shape and way arm works looks like a solid 3B, but arm strength needs to make a jump for him to stay there; bat has easy projection.

10/28/18

NCTB Fall Classic - Stout 5-foot-9 180-pounds with strength throughout, has a good swing trigger, bat speed is plentiful, starts open and does tend to look to pull, hands do work inside the ball which will be an asset when his front hip gets more in line with the pitch, aggressive nature and has a bit of a hitterish presence.
