1/09/22

Physical: 6-1, 170 pounds; Athletic, lean build. 7.51 runner in the 60.

Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet shoulder width apart; upright bat position. Short take back with the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a flat swing path with a two handed finish.  More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 86.00 MPH via Trackman. Level path through the zone with some present barrel accuracy. Swing gets a tad long at times. Barrels when he catches out front.

Defensively: 2.03-2.16 pop times. C - 74.00 MPH.  4/5 accurate throwdowns. Quick feet and gains good ground to second. Average arm strength using a short action. Athletic crouch behind the dish. Present framing skills shown during bullpens.

8/15/20

Defense: Prep-step, athletic base, good ball reads, sound baseball actions, solid footwork around the bag, clean transfers.
Arm: RH.  INF - 74 mph.  Arm is quick, able to make accurate throws, same arm path as seen on the mound.
Hit: RHH. Stands upright, wide base stance, slight knee bend, leg lift trigger to initiate swing.  Shows some bat speed at 64.1 mph, able to cover the inside part of the plate but struggled with pitches away, line drive potential.
Power: 80 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Run: 7.36 runner in the 60.

Delivery: Easy feel on the mound, keeps head in line, lower body balance, drop and drive, raw projection.
Arm Action: RH. Some whippy action, long arms show projection, creates backspin.
FB: T82, 80-82 mph. Fastball sat comfortably at 82 mph with a 2176 spin rate average, showing ability to locate to all quadrants of the zone, projectable fastball.
SL: 64-66 mph. Slider shows good tilt, lacking sharp break and spin, developmental pitch.
KN: 70-71 mph. True knuckleball, did not register spin on TrackMan, swing and miss pitch.

9/21/19

Uncommitted. Six-foot, 150-pounds. Large, long, lean frame with wiry strength throughout. At the plate Turley starts upright with a slight knee bend before using a leg lift trigger to initiate swing. Shows fast hands with the ability to manipulate the barrel through the zone and get barrel on inside pitches. Showed a gap-to-gap approach with a slight uphill barrel path. Defensively he sets up low in his crouch before exploding out with excellent footwork and clean transfers. Arm is fast with accuracy to second base. On the mound he stays tall on the backside before driving down the mound with a strong backside drive. Fastball shows hints of arm side run as it enters the zone. He keeps the pitch down and shows the ability to throw it to all quadrants of the strike zone. Curveball is sharp, tight spinning with late break in the zone. Pitch was inconsistent in terms of hitting the strike zone, but the arm action was consistent. Turley flashed a knuckleball that had traits of knuckle-curve with late, sharp break down in the zone.
