Body: 6-0, 165-pounds. Athletic proportional frame. Projectable Hit: LHH. Balanced with straight up feet in stance. Uses a mild leg kick trigger as upper body internally rotates. Hands get into a good lower launch position. Smooth stroke that works on an upward path. Middle of the field approach. Power: 92 max exit velocity. Bat speed average of 70 mph and rotational acceleration average of 20.34 are both above average for his age and show a + power ceiling. Arm: LH. OF - 84 mph. Quick compact arm action out of a higher slot. Above average arm strength for level. Thows were made on an upward angle which got to the target on the fly. Flashed good carry for ⅘ accurate throws in the workout. Defense: Aggressive actions from the OF. Charges balls and gets low to the ground. Uses momentum to get off strong throws. Takes some unnecessary steps after fielding it. Run: 7.1 runner in the 60.
Delivery: Athletic repeatable delivery. Exclusive from the stretch. Higher knee lift that is quick up and down. Drifts towards home with a slight push off the rubber. Good fielding position and firm front leg at landing. Arm Action: LH. Compact arm circle in the back that comes out of an over the top slot. Angles his shoulders upward and turns over. Present arm speed in the action. FB: T77-79, 77-79 mph. Above average spin for its velo (2200 rpm) gives it a decent vertical break of 21.2 inches with minimal horizontal break. CB: 67-70 mph. Located it well in the zone or down.
9/23/18 - Rising Stars Showcase - Five-foot-8, 140-pounds, medium/large frame with long limbs, high waist, large feet, and wiry strength throughout the body. Farmer stood out to our team of scouts with his overall game, particularly at the plate where he shows a potential plus hit tool given his present bat speed, fast hands, and understanding of his zone. Has some sneaky power to the pull side presently with the ability to pepper gaps with line drives. Shows a middle approach that he sticks to. Power projects with continued physical maturation. In the outfield Farmer shows a strong arm with life and accuracy. Arm is a tick long but releases from ear. Hands are soft with clean, quick exchanges. Charges balls under control while playing through them. On the mound Farmer showed a quick-to-fast arm along with clean and repeatable mechanics. Drop-and-drive delivery that gains a fair share of ground working down the mound. Shows a full arm swing in the back through to a ¾ slot and an out-front delivery. Fastball shows some run to the arm side while staying down in the zone. He moved the pitch to both sides of the plate with accuracy. Sows feel for the changeup which shows run back to the arm side from fastball arm speed. Command was a bit erratic with the pitch. Curveball is a potential plus pitch with it's late breaking action. Maintains fastball arm speed with the pitch.
