SoCal ProCase:

Body: 6-foot-3, 210-pounds. Long and strong with proportional musculature throughout the frame. Durable frame with room for the addition of mass.

Hit: Gets and keeps the barrel on plane through the zone consistently through to extension. His on-plane efficiency of 82° rates well above average for college hitters and is consistent with MLB averages as scored by Blast Motion. He’s direct and quick to the ball showing consistent barrel control.

Power: Raw power is consistent with MLB average with an average bat speed of 71.3 mph per Blast Motion. His average power score of 16.9g is above average for college players and right at the MLB average of 17g. Moves the bat quickly through the zone generating loud, powerful contact.

Field: A 6.64 runner, D’Arcy is able to cover lots of ground in the outfield while easily tracking balls to both sides. Footwork is quick, smooth and consistent while playing under control of his body. Glides towards the ball and comes up ready to throw.

Arm: Outfield velocity 85 mph with throws flashing carry. This is an area where he’s really improved with his accuracy as his throws were more inline with the target than in past viewings.

Run: Clocked a 6.64 laser-timed 60-yard dash on a grass surface. Showed good running mechanics keeping shoulder square with little-to-no head movement.

D'Arcy is one of the hottest uncommitted players in the class alongside McLain. D’Arcy is an athletic 6-foot-3, 215-pounds of proportional strength that busted out a 6.65 hand-timed 60-yard dash. His power in the bat is indisputable as he showed during BP where he mashed balls to all fields with authority. That carried over into the game where he smoked a standup double (see below) into left-field. Defensively he’s made strides with the accuracy of his arm from right field. It’s always been big, but now the accuracy is coming along with it providing another weapon while his athleticism allows him to play any position in the outfield as he’s shown he can do this summer.

Uncommitted. Physically-gifted at 6-foot-3, 190-pounds with defined, lean strength throughout the entire frame, D’Arcy immediately stands out on the field for his frame, and proceeded to back it up with his all-around game. Hitting in the 3-hole for Pacific Baseball Academy, D’Arcy stands balanced in a crouch with his weight evenly distributed, and was constantly in control of each of his at-bats, hunting his pitch, and unafraid to hit from behind. His strength and plate coverage allowed him to drive the ball to the opposite gap for a triple early on, and he peppered the opposite field throughout. His quick hands drive the barrel through the zone with impressive strength, and he never strayed from a controlled approach. I was thoroughly impressed by his pre-pitch routine and overall ability to slow the game down which should help him continue making strides forward in the future. He shifted to centerfield from right field for game two of the night, and made some quality plays demonstrating the ability to cover ground from side to side along with closing in on balls that were shallow. Overall, D’Arcy is a player to know in the 2021 class, and coaches will want to get eyes on him soon
