Event: NorCal Uncommitted Games – showing pushed him into the rankings
Body: 6-0, 185-pounds. Broad frame, sizeable proportions, room for more physicality.
Delivery: Calm lift of knee just above waist, swings stride foot out to stride that is very slightly closed, small rise of hands to chest area before separation, keeps head quiet, pulls glove arm through and back into the finish, finishes with balance in fielding position.
Arm Action: Long backside, smooth with no restrictions, lowers arm as he gets to a 3/4 release somewhat similar to a Halladay-type arm action, finishes through release with clean deceleration.
FB: T83.9 mph, 80.6 avg mph, 2250 max spin; Creates sink and run to the arm side while showing feel for the zone, most effective down in zone, with a bit more velocity will be able to use that run effectively inside vs RHH and down-away to LHH and/or front door to LHH.
CB: 66-68, 1980 max spin; Smaller breaking ball with some tilty slider-type break, not a biting CB but late enough to be effective.
CH: 72-74 mph, 1522 avg spin; Similar look and release to the FB, slot and release are the same as is movement pattern, as with the other offerings he has feel and confidence in the pitch.
