1/21/19 - Jaden Noot was one of the pop-up guys from the weekend. Noot took the mound on Monday and immediately caught my attention with his physical frame. Standing at 6-foot, 160-pounds, his frame is long, lean, and wiry strong. There’s noticeable strength in the lower half with squared shoulders and some strength down through the arms. Working 85-88 with the fastball, Noot has a loose arm with smooth, repeatable mechanics and delivery through to a 3/4 slot. Fastball shows armside run and some life as it enters the zone. Works a 68-70 mph curveball off the fastball very well showing an understanding of pitching. Curveball is slurvy with some depth to it. Flashed a changeup at 71 that has big arm side run and fading action. Used it very well off the fastball to lefties and busted it in on righties. Lots of projection in Noot’s overall game and his physical frame. High follow heading into the spring.
