Bay Area World Series 2022 - Uncommitted; Big burly body type on sturdy frame, performed as two-way player at BAWS 2022 w/pitching talents standing out as his best position at present, ran 7.66 60-yd, 73 mph INF throw, on mound the FB peaked at 80.3 mph w/1884 max spin, did a nice job getting after the strike zone, flashed big arm side movement which combined with fairly modest spin would give him a chance to develop a sinker and ability to work down in the zone, the 5.9 release height a little high for the spin numbers he generates at present, CB 67-69 mph, 1790 max spin, big wide break, SL 71-73 mph, smaller break, slightly less spin at 1646, the spin on both breaking balls will have to increase as he develops, CHG 74 mph with similar movement pattern to FB; 90.6 max EV in BP, 20% hard hit % (balls over 90 mph), 40% sweet spot %.
Positional Profile: RHP
Body: 5-10, 160-pounds. Rangy upper body, strong though hips and thighs, sturdy frame to hold plenty more strength.
Delivery: Simple start w/small rocker step, medium knee lift to waist height, controlled down the slope, maintains body control, lands with stability allowing for quality finish/extension.
Arm Action: RH. Loose arm, compact, two part backside arm action with depth, gets to high-3/4 slot, projectable for future velocity, easy arm.
FB: T77, 72-74 mph. Arm strength fastball, average (HS) movement, sinker type FB, effective looking pitch in bottom of zone.
CB: 63-64 mph. Showed feel, wide sweeping CB, smooth continuous break.
SL: 66-67 mph. Similar look to CB though w/flatter and slightly wider break, sweeping action that can be effective if started in the zone.
CH: 64-69 mph. Average (HS) movement, gets action in bottom of zone, ground ball getting type CHG, finishes well.
11/11/18 - CBA Sacramento tryout - Body type looks to have a chance to develop into a physical and strong player, some present day strength showed up with 77 mph exit velocity which is a good number given he's an 8th grader, stays short to the ball, efficient lower half, compact power type swing, defensively showed off a loose arm and steady footwork, on mound high-3/4 slot, long circular backside arm action with a little bit of an inverted elbow, good body control, 11/5 curveball slipped out a little early, best pitch is changeup that was thrown with feel and lots of arm side movement
