OC Preseason All-State - The Cal State Northridge commit showed his wiry strength along with a continued focus on the middle of the field when hitting through the first half of his round before moving to more of a pull focus showing more consistency with the barrel with this approach. Shows a simple, athletic setup that includes a short leg kick/stride that accentuates the backside drive. Remains balanced while driving his hands through the ball and into finish. Defensively he shows very soft hands that are fast and consistent. There’s fluidity to his movement while the arm strength is present allowing him to make throws from any angle as he demonstrated in his slow roller opportunity where he came from below the knee and threw a dart at the chest of the first baseman.

5-foot-10, 145-pounds, medium/large frame with plenty of room for physical development. Every time we see Camarillo we come away impressed with his present and projectable tools. A slick fielding shortstop, Camarillo shows excellent hands and glovework with plenty of present arm strength (83 mph) across the diamond and able to make throws from many angles. Shows some lift in his swing at the plate from a line drive gap-to-gap approach. Gets extended through the zone after contact while maintaining balance in his finish.

IE Future Games Trials - Uncommitted. Camarillo showed to be a twitchy, athletic, middle infielder with a present tool set on the dirt that should keep him at shortstop in the future. Showed smooth actions with the glove paired with slick footwork moving laterally. Turned the double play ball with ease. Arm is able was accurate and able to make throws from all angles registering a 76 mph infield velocity. At 5-foot-9, 140-pounds the rising junior has some physical projection remaining. At the plate he uses his frame very well. Stays connected throughout his swing. Sooth tempo to his swing that starts with a balanced, upright setup before a slight leg lift trigger gets things started. Fully rotational upper body with navel often finishing facing third base.
