Body: 6-3, 215-pounds. Athletic length with wider shoulders showing strength currently and some space for a bit more growth.
Hit: RHH. Balanced and relaxed with high back elbow staying tight and connected well. Slight sink in back hip with slight hand movement before exploding out of back hip. Very controlled lower half with ability to stick his forward movement. Loose and easy swing stays tight to rotations and has barrel follow hand path. Linedrives jumped off the bat during rounds. 75.3 Max Batspeed, 20.6 gs Max Rotational Acceleration, 24 Max Handspeed, 59% On Plane Efficiency, 54.5% Hard Hit.
Power: 96.30 mph exit velocity.
Arm: RH. OF - 81 mph. Compact arm with accurate throws. Good backspin to targets. Fits LF/CF
Defense: Long strides and breaks down easily to move through the baseball. Showed the ability to track during games and can go get it. Speed to fit in middle of OF.
Run: 6.74 runner in the 60.
Roulston is all of the 6-foot-2, 175-pounds and it’s a long, lean, wiry strong, twitchy frame with large feet and long limbs. Defense has improved in the area of charging/gathering balls, it seems more natural and easier now. Arm strength has improved as well as he showed with a strong, accurate throw from right field that held a runner at third. At the plate he drew a couple of walks and didn’t have many pitches to offer at. When he did put a swing on the ball it was aggressively controlled with quickness through the zone. Clocked at 3.19 on a stolen base after one of his walks.
Rising Stars Showcase - Six-foot-2, 175-pounds, large frame with lean muscle and wiry strength throughout the body. Squared shoulders with long limbs and large feet (size 16). Roulston is one of most projectable athletes that participated in the event with his raw present tools. At the plate he shows a knack for barreling the ball consistently and driving balls to the gaps. Barrel really plays in the hitting zone where he keeps it on plane and through the zone for a long time. Does an excellent job of syncing his lower half with his swing. Finish is balanced. In the outfield he shows excellent range to both sides and athletic movements. Attacks balls aggressively with good footwork. Hands are average and his arm gets a little long in the throw. With continued work in the outfield Roulston has big potential out there given his athleticism. Exchanges are quick and clean while his present arm strength is average. Plays through the ball but tends to slow when arriving to it.
