3/6/18 Michigan commit. 6-foot-2, 200-pound frame with squared shoulders, long limbs, lean, muscular physique. Carattini looked in mid-season form during his first start of the season making quick work of the opponent in the first few innings of work. The Michigan commit worked off his fastball - 86-89 and touching 90 mph - that shows some cut action into left-handed hitters. Fastball was most effective at 87-88 mph. The righty then unleashed a sweeping curveball that had a 10-4 shape that topped at 75 mph while living 73-74 mph range. He used the pitch as an out pitch several times throughout his outing. Carattini finally introduced a slider the second time through lineup. The pitch was a tight, sweeping pitch that was difficult to pick up once the shadows crept over home plate and topped at 83 mph while living 81-82 mph. Carattini used the same high three-quarter arm slot on all pitches and maintained arm speed with all his pitches.
