Arizona commit. Casper is an impressive athlete at 6-foot-2, 195-pounds. The Arizona commit showed off his sweet swing both in-game and during his BP rounds where he drilled line drives to all fields - several going off the fence. It’s a simple swing without many moving parts. He’s able to get the barrel on plane and keep it there through the hitting zone repeatedly. Took two very good in-game at-bats. Defensively the arm is strong and accurate. He works around balls with proper footwork and is always under control.

2020 Valhalla (Arizona) OF/RHP, 6-foot-1 195 pounds, R/R. Strong performance in all facets of the game, baseball movements looked crisp. Took 12 pitches before swinging, registering 2 walks and a 2-0 count before his first swing of the game. Showed great base running skills on two dirt ball reads and tagging up on a close play at the plate. Displayed plus-outfield arm on close play at 3rd. Closed the game out on the mound registering 89-91 mph on the fastball with some hop. Countered with a 73-75 mph slider with 11/4 tilt and command of the pitch. Seldomly used on the mound but looked confident and under control closing out the biggest game of his career. Big time player who will be in consideration for 2020 pre-season player of the year.

4/15/19

2020 Valhalla (El Cajon, CA) OF Kyle Casper is listed at 6-foot-2 190 pounds and is committed to the University of Arizona. Throws right and hits right. Started in centerfield and hit leadoff. Strong frame, broad shoulders and present athleticism. Arm strength is known as “the best outfield arm in the county” and was on display with two crisp line drive throws to the secondbasemen when fielding extra-base hits in the gap. Speed tool is slightly above-average with ability for improvement with technique training and maturity. Showed late breaks on action in the outfield with average coverage ability and looks better suited for right field. Went two for four with three hard hit balls, displaying lower half power with good hip drive. Arms get extended allowing for plate coverage and showing present and future opposite field ability. Toolsy outfield prospect that could find himself on the 2020 MLB draft radar.

10/22/18

OF Kyle Casper (Valhalla HS, CA), an Arizona recruit, collected a hard single for the San Diego Show, and certainly looks the part of a potential draft pick in 2020 as he sports a high-waisted, athletic, 6-foot-2, 195-pound frame with proportional strength. He is quiet in his stance pre-pitch before separating his hands straight back with a short stride, and quickly working the barrel directly to the ball on a level plane.
