Bay Area World Series 2022 - Uncommitted; Long body with sizeable frame, lanky proportions with ample room to build strength onto the 6-foot-6 225-lbs he's at now, has worked VERY hard over last year to lose over 40 lbs now just needs to pack on some muscle, FB peaked at 87.5 mph w/spin maxing at 2476 which similarly mirrored his performance at PBR ProCase, can work the FB down in the zone and create angle/tilt, CB 73-76 mph with spin up to 2607, not a huge breaker but tight with some depth, CHG has big spin reduction off the FB w/1478, as he continues to work and develop he has a chance to break into the upper-echelon of 2023 RHPs in Northern CA and it would stand to reason his development in college will have him in the mix for the 2026 draft.
7/16/21
Body: 6-5, 240-pounds. Large frame, starters build, long limbs, more to come, presence on the mound. Delivery: Old school over-the-head delivery, trouble finishing his pitches out in front, stayed in line with target well. Showed some good overall feel for pitching but with lots to developed and worked on. Arm Action: RH. Showed flashes of a power arm, no question he will throw in the low 90s to potential mid-90s someday. Inconsistent follow through likely more command-related than arm speed. Arm did well-holding angle for off-speed pitches. FB: T86, 83-85 mph. Worked the fastball all over the zone, missed bats with fastballs up, extension and size plays up current velocity. 2201 spin rate is another positive indicator of a projectable arm. CB: 71-73 mph. Conventional curveball but with a very good spin rate average of 2450 and max of 2554. Three of five strikeouts were on the curveball. CH: 78 mph. Developmental changeup, speed and spin are similar to the fastball to really offset hitters but headed in the right direction. Gave up a hit on a changeup left up in the zone but also got an easy groundout on the same pitch two batters later.
Delivery: Over the head with glove and comes back over into a higher knee lift. Slight engagement with back hip. Lead leg works straight from lift down the mound and in line with home. Loose arm action. Arm circle in the back that gets to a ¾ release.
FB: Decent spin for velo at around 2200 rpm. Decent extension gives it some extra perceived velo. Worked it to all quadrants.
SL: Above average spin at around 2500 rpm. More slurvy break due to present vertical break at around 13 inches which gives it nice depth. Sharp break.Makings of an elite strikeout pitch.
CH: Slows down arm when he throws it. Straight change with some late diving action. Still some development is needed.
