6/04/23

Event: NorCal ProCase
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Physical: 6-2, 215 pounds; Strong base
Offensively: RH. EV max – 93.3 mph, hand speed max – 19.6 mph, bat speed max – 69.7 mph; Hands positioned high at the ear with a wiggle rhythm that he uses to time up his whip-like load. Occasional toe-tap.
Defensively: INF Velo – 80 mph; Good footwork and follow through on throws; Able to make it across the diamond without a crow hop on backhands down the line.

Delivery: Quick out of the stretch with full leg kick and ½ leg kick variants.
Arm Action: Downhill with good hip-shoulder separation and an over-the-top short arm path creating an armside run on the fastball.
FB: T87.6 mph, 84.3 -  87.6 mph range, 1895 avg spin; arm side run on the FB, able to start of the zone and bring it onto the black and start in the zone and get weak contact/swing and misses on the inside half.
SL: 75.1 - 76.9 mph, 1842 avg spin; Showed he could go frontdoor and backdoor SL for a strike as well as get it out of the zone for a chase pitch. Tunnels well with his tailing FB.

6/06/21

Bay Area World Series Underclass (6/4/21-6/6/21)

Offensive notes: High hands and high back elbow keeps hands in place on load and shows small sit. Barrel turns on time to work upward through the zone and one of the loudest barrels during the event. Easy carry and chance for some power as he matures. Able to have deep drives to gaps and that carried over to the games where he worked behind the ball and let the compact swing do it's damage. Heavy barrel and strength in frame come out consistently. 60-yard - 7.56 / EV mph - 96

Defensive notes: C: Able to catch well with body in good position and arm strength there. Efficient feetwork and ability to be soft with the frame on blocks. C mph - 72 / Pops - 2.12-2.19

3B: Uses lower half well getting low and working offthat with ability to cut balls off to the gloveside. Worked through the ball and circled when going to backhand. arm was firm and accurate with more coming in throws across. 3B mph - 77

Pitching notes: Stretch only. Lift with hands from waist getting hands to break and drive down the hill. Front leg is strong and able to utilize that to catapult arm. Compact actiont to 3/4 release and able to have CB/FB start in similar place. FB was straight with times of better angle arm side. CB was slurvy with later break and tight spin. Upside available on the hill and ability to control the frame. FB 76-79 / SL 68-69 / CHG 70-72

2/21/21

Positional Profile: C/3B
Body: 6-0, 210-pounds. Large shoulders with current strength there, but plenty of time to tighten the frame. Moves well for size.
Hit: RHH. Squatted stance, high hands/high back elbow. Simple forward move with lots of hand rhythm. Great direction and ability to drive backside through contact. Deep carry and easy carry deep into gaps. Power will be a major asset.  Hands stay above the baseball well with barrel following and creating easy loft; explosive off the bat.
Power: 95 max exit velocity.
Arm: RH. C - 72 mph. INF - 74 mph. Fluid and compact. Easy actions. Able to get rid of it when he needs to. Balls generally on the bag from both C/3B position.
Defense: 2.19-2.29 pop times.
C: Good footwork and direction towards Second. Pulls glove to throwing hand allowing efficient transfers. Soft body for blocks and able to get out of crouch well. Multiple stances and able to stick pitches.
3B: Low hips, quick feet; Agile for size and shows ability to adjust hips to bounces.
Run: 7.95 runner in the 60.

1/31/20

Even hands using narrow toe tap showing quick and loose hands having level bat path and some lift out front with contact. Showed easy carry and middle of the field approach. Chance for big jumps in near future.
