Madrigal is a slick-fielding shortstop that shows a quick first step and range that allows him to get to balls that seem unreachable. Athletic infielder with an above average arm that can make online and accurate throws from all angles. Very instinctual player that seems to slow the game down with ease. Made an over-the-shoulder catch in shallow left-center field that not a lot of sophomores will make. Repetitive pre-pitch routine. Communicative player. Offensively, Madrigal has a mature approach in his selectiveness of pitches. Shows good feel for the barrel and a deep understanding of the strike zone. Shows active hands that he starts above his ear before a left leg trigger starts his swing. Clocked 4.83 with turn.
