Santa Clara signee: Strong athletic build and retains good agility, has some tools that project well as a college player, defensively he was really impressive, repeatedly showing outstanding agility and blocking ability, as well as the ability to control the block. His ability to block showed up both to his left and his right and he saved at least one run with a runner at 3rd base. Has quick feet as he pops to throw to 2nd base and though the raw arm strength isn't a plus, he showed accuracy and a quick clean transfer. His best time was 2.01 and it was 74 mph. There could be a little more in the arm. He received well and plays the position athletically. Offensively he's a left-handed hitter with strong hands and some power potential. The hands do push away from his body in the swing and he could access more from his lower half, as well as staying a bit more through the middle of the field, but he showed a knack for hard barrel contact in multiple at-bats (F8+, 1B to LCF, 4-6+, F9+, bloop 1B). It was his bloop to center that scored the winning run. The bat path was pretty flat and as he develops in college he should earn pro attention as a good defender with some pop from the left-side of the plate
Santa Clara commit, showed a good arm behind the plate with 2.1 pop times between innings and showing strong receiving skills. At the plate, his timing was off like most of the Wolves hitters. Thick lower half and thick forearms create good bat speed through the zone. Will be a guy the Wolves will look to for big-time offensive production.
Uncommitted as of this viewing; Strong legs on a 5-foot-10 185-pound frame, though appears to be a bit taller than that. Left-handed hitter with confident presence in the box. Aggressive swing, starts slightly open and takes hands easily to the ball. Good extension through contact and looks to have line drive/gap type pop. Ran 4.41-4.45 on a couple of hard hit balls in the middle of the diamond. Moved around 1st bag well considering he isn't a natural 1st baseman. Was in the 3-hole for his team.
