A strike thrower with a three pitch mix that includes a 91-93 mph fastball, slider and changeup, Medrano is expected to make an immediate impact in the Cougar rotation. Last season at Temple, the 6-foot right hander posted an 8-5 record with a 2.95 ERA. He struck out 85 and allowed 63 hits in 79.1 IP.
