8/2017 - 90-93. 76 curveball. 83 changeup. Pitches from a high-3/4 slot. Quick feet. Curveball has 11/5 shape, sometimes 12/6. Allowed a run on a hit and hit batter in two innings across two appearances. Struck out three.
8/22/19: After an up-and-down freshman campaign for Nevada, RHP Owen Sharts (2021) found the strike zone with more regularity this summer over his 18.2 innings of work with his 2.9 BB/9. It was a stark improvement over the 4.6 BB/9 he posted over his 14 starts this spring. The former Ranger draft pick, and 78th overall high school prospect in the 2018 MLB Draft, is at present a Day Two name for the 2021 draft, showing promise with a quality three pitch mix including a low-90s fastball, mid-70s curve and low-80s changeup.
