Arizona commit. Kysar is coming off a spring in which he didn’t pitch much but he appears to be picking up where he left off in our last viewing in January. Working consistently 88-89 mph with the fastball, the Arizona commit worked downhill and in-and-out with the pitch in his outing. Kysar’s changeup was on as he worked 78-81 mph with tight spin and late fading action. The pitch flashes plus potential at times. The curveball was tight with some biting action and depth at 69-72 mph. When thrown with conviction the pitch was unhittable.
Kysar, an Arizona recruit, turned in one of the most impressive outings of my stay in Orange County as he worked uptempo while driving fastballs to the bottom of the zone at 86-88. Compact and athletic in his delivery, Kysar's arm stroke is short with quickness out front and an overall efficient movement pattern that easiest-described as a "Driveline delivery". Repeating the delivery with ease, he was able to pitch up in the zone when necessary, which served to enhance the effect of a downer, 12/6 breaking ball that was thrown at 71-73 with tight spin. He also flashed a developing changeup at 80-81. Breezing through the first few innings, Kysar's only hiccup came in his final frame as he scuffled minorly from the stretch, but may have shown even more in that frame as he showed the ability to battle. At 6-foot-1, 185-pounds, Kysar sports an athletic frame that should allow him to continue to make quick advancements moving forward.
