4/15/21

at College Park HS - Uncommitted; 6-foot-2, 170-pounds. Lanky, athletic build with plenty of room for growth. Sound mechanically, uses simple delivery. Repeats well. High-3/4 arm slot. Finishes square to the plate consistently which sets him up to field his position. Uses long hand break and doesn’t hide ball especially well but compensates for it because ball gets on hitters quickly. Good move to first. Threw over often. Almost picked runner off. Quick worker, gets ball back and is ready to go. Solid three pitch mix (FB, CB, CH). FB has good life and showed ability to move it in and out. CB is more slurvy but he throws is from about a 1/7 slot and breaks late. Good bite. Good CH as well. Always missed down with it and used it frequently. Plays well off his FB. Had laborious first inning and was done after 1/3. Run scored on a wild pitch. Got a key strikeout but couldn’t escape inning. Move to pull him was surprising initially but did catch him stretching his leg frequently in the bullpen while warming up. Could’ve been removed due to injury. Didn’t notice any injury during game.

9/07/20

Bay Area World Series 2020 (BAWS) - Uncommitted; Have seen him mix three pitches (CB/CHG) in multiple viewings during the HS season and now the velocity is climbing, up to 84 in his outing, which again, showed his ability to 'pitch' and trust his stuff because of his plus feel for the zone.

8/16/20

Positional Profile: LHP
Body: A lean 6-2, 165-pounds with ample room to add weight and muscle
Delivery: Traditional. Clean and repeatable mechanics. Head pulls down to the glove side at times.
Arm Action: LH. Over the top arm slot. Short arm swing, but you can project that there is more in the tank with his long levers.
FB: T84, 81-83 mph. Shows command. Topped out at 84. More in the tank
CB: 70-73 mph. Big CB with 1/7 shape
CH: 72-74 mph. Best pitch currently. Gets swing and misses with it. Will develop as he gains more strength in frame.

3/05/20

vs Berkeley HS - Uncommitted;  Lean and rangy bodied at 6-foot-2, 170-pounds. The raw stuff will come as he gains size and strength and as he held his 77-80 most of the outing (6 IP), that's a good sign that he works at an effort level he can maximize and stay consistent with. Overhand slot, short backside, easy arm, good direction. Looks as young as I am told he is for the junior class. Fastball with occasional cutting action and effective pitch that plays up a little bit due to his usage of the change-up (71-73 mph) which he got many swings and misses with as well as soft contact. Did get some outs on high change-ups and down the road will need to finish the pitch better but he has feel of it. Big 66 mph curveball with 1/7 shape, minimal usage as he relied on FB/CHG. Ability to read and hold runners.
