The Road to the California State Games begins with the 2020 California high school baseball season. With the season just around the corner, our Staff has begun putting out team previews from all around the state getting you prepare for another year of exciting coverage.

In this edition we will take a closer look at the Acalanes Dons who are bringing another deep roster into the NCS Division 1.

OUTLOOK:

The Acalanes Dons were one of the deepest teams in the NCS during 2019 and that same depth carried over to 2020 returning seven starters and four pitchers to show a well balanced attack that should see them make another deep playoff run. This team’s middle of the lineup can do some damage and should be high run producers. That offense will help support the pitching staff led by two D1 recruits looking to be counted on to limit damage of opposing offenses. The team defense will again be solid with the left side locked down by 21 SS Davis Diaz and 20 3B Nick Kresnak; the rest of the team defense is athletic and the type pitchers like to have behind them. Health and consistency will be the focus for success and if seen, should have the Dons pushing for a NCS Division 1 Title.
