vs Foothill HS - Loyola Marymount commit; 6-foot-3, 170-pound frame, long, lanky build with plenty of room to fill out. Clean, quick arm action. Repeatable delivery. High 3/4 release with armside run on FB. Works quickly. Throws both four and two-seam fastball. Four seamer is straight but he locates it well and two-seamer looked to be the better of the two, with explosive armside run and late movement, keeping hitters off balance. Curve is plus pitch, very sharp bite with 1/7 action. Used change-up often and recorded all three strikeouts in 1st inning with that pitch. Had a tough time finishing pitches in the next inning and was done after the 2nd.

vs Clayton Valley - LMU commit; executed his pitches well. Gave up an early run in the 1st inning but after that he was very strong, going 4.1 IP (3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, BB, 4 K). Has a lean thin body type, quick loose arm, works easy from high 3/4 slot. Mixed three pitches well (FB 82-86, CB 71-74, CHG 73) and showed feel of them all. Fastball is a bit sneaky, has some flat run though when going in vs right-handed hitters he got some angle on it. Curveball is wide, with some sweeping action, not much bite but solid continuous break. Showed above average feel for the change-up and was able to get outs with all his pitches.

vs Foothill - The older brother of 2021 C Thatcher Hurd, he is also tall, long, and lanky, but is skinny and could use some weight on his body. Nothing he threw was straight and he created great angle and had sink and ASR on his fastballs. His windup is funky and he has a big leg kick and long arm and comes at the hitter with everything he has. The only fastballs in his one inning and it was 81-83 and he showed a breaking ball in warm-ups that he spun well that could be a weapon for him. It is not a comfortable at-bat for hitters and this kid should throw big innings for the Dons this year. Coaches said he is receiving D1 interest and they also spoke highly of him.
