Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
NCA Top Prospect ID - Small frame, lean and athletically built with quick feet out of the block (7.15 60-yd). High hands, high elbows set up with tall posture; foot lift with hands working back staying high. Hands are direct to the ball allowing flat bat to stay on plane through the zone making contact out in front of the plate; line drives through the middle with contact oriented approach flashing some strength when looking to backspin ball into gaps (75 EV). Aggressive to the ball in the OF using his quick feet to stay behind the ball; mid-slot arm with ability to keep balls on the bag having ball come out of hand cleanly (85 MPH).
5/31/19
BAWS 2019 - Medium, athletic build with good proportions; chance for frame to strengthen as he matures (7.39 60yd). Narrow stance using a foot lift for timing with very high hands; hands work directly at the ball with quick turns allowing for solid contact through the middle of the field (75 EV). BP showed his ability to spray the middle of the field with hard liners and ground balls; lots of solid contact during games as well showing good 90’s getting out of the box leading to an error. Aggressive and athletic in OF, Miles showed a wide compact arm with heavy load prior to throws (75 MPH); kept throws inline to bags.
6/12/18 - Uncommitted. Lean and athletic body type on 5-foot-8 145 pound frame. Well-proportioned throughout, favorable physical projection. Offensively stands in with wide feet and good balance while maintaining balance throughout swing. Solid bat speed and timing, gets in good position at contact with body behind the ball. Pull approach and top hand takes barrel out of zone a bit early with a rollover move a bit early. Staying through ball a bit longer would be an adjustment to make. Line drive swing plane that will work well with his balance and quiet head. Defensively he is fairly conservative in his approach to the ball while getting rid of the ball in decent fashion. Exit of ball out of hand had high trajectory and not a lot of carry, with fair exit velocity. Good strides as a runner, moves well on the field, chance to run better as he gains strength and works on adding explosiveness.
