The big man continues to hit, and it looks like he’s slimmed down a good amount since the Future Games last summer, where he put on a good week and locked in his commitment to Texas Tech. The first thing to notice is how hard Walbridge swings in the box, it's a controlled violence approach, he wants to hurt baseballs. His bat to ball skills have gotten a lot better, as he was spoiling pitches when he was behind in the count, the swing and miss has been cut down a lot. Walbridge smoked a double early in the game into the RCF gap, displaying his plus bat speed. For being a solid 6’4”, Walbridge does a great job of getting into his legs when he hits, sometimes the bigger guys have a tough ime being able to tap into their lower half, but Walbridge has always displayed that. He finished the day 1-3 with a double.

William Walbridge, Junipero Serra High School (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: 1B/3B Power hitting 1B, with good feel for the barrel. Consistent pull side approach.
Body: 6-3, 250-pounds. Sturdy frame with room for physical refinement.
Hit: LHH. Sets up upright and balanced with hands at shoulder level, barrel resting fairly flat. Initiates the load by sinking into the back hip as the hands drift back and the barrel tips vertical. Incorporates a long, controlled stride to shift weight forward. Fires hips at foot strike, creating good separation with an aggressive, quick barrel path through the zone. Swings heavy barrel, with uphill path, that consistently produces lift and carry to the pull side. Flashes occasional pop to the opposite field.
Power: 99 max exit velocity, averaged 88.7 mph. 371' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-76 mph. Shows a full, lengthy arm path working from a 3/4 slot. Throws are on line to the bag, with some on a hop. Has room to add arm strength and refine mechanics. Profiles to stick at 1B.
Defense: Stays low to the ground with active feet, allowing for quick, controlled movement. Lets the ball travel into his frame, showing soft hands and the ability to make plays cleanly.
