9/20/19

Fall tournament - Uncommitted; He had an outstanding day at the plate, barreling three balls and driving in multiple runs. Enos, a R/R catcher, showed the type of hand strength that will allow him to impact higher velocity fastballs. Now, in this game he faced two pitchers working in the 77-80 mph range, but to his credit, he dominated that level of competition, which to me is a very important factor. There is some top hand hook to his swing but it's similar to that of a hitter like Mike Napoli and his top hand finish creates good carry to his ball flight. When it was a hittable fastball he was ready to hit and aggressive, with good barrel control. Obviously would like to see him more vs more velocity, but the hit tools stood out. Defensively he blocked really well and showed the toughness and grittiness for the position. Can improve his pop times and arm strength but his warm-up throws to 2nd base were 2.15-2.19 and on the bag. His footwork is good and he looks to be an accurate thrower.

7/24/19

Top Prospect IDMedium frame with longer torso and wider strength in the lower half; quick burst off line getting to full speed quickly (7.36 60yd). Opened and tall stance with high hands having slight coil around the back hip with slight foot lift; full body finishes with back knee having good rotation. Quick barrel works level through the zone with high, two-handed finish staying behind the ball as he stayed to the pullside with long line drives (84 EV); swing is easy and loose showing ability to repeat swing. Quick feet matched up with quick transfer allows for him to have arm strength play up keeping the throws on the bag (74 MPH, 1.94-2.03 Pop). Athletic ability shines with blocking showing quick hand and firm chest keeping balls close to him; glove presentation was strong with loose glove hand able to manipulate ball around the zone.

6/26/19

Bay Area Open - Medium frame with longer torso and wider strength in the lower half; shorter stride getting to full speed quickly (7.66 60yd). Low target with unbalanced stance pushing off the back foot; moves glove to hand quickly. Compact release from quick wrist (71 MPH) with balls regularly at the glove side of the bag (2.04-2.08 Pop). Some agility with push to block using his glove well; ability to grab the short-hop and back hand balls. Showed tight, low target receiving; times where ball moves the glove. Can keep strengthening glove wrist to better manipulate the baseball. Slightly opened, balanced stance at the plate with flared elbows resting barrel on back shoulder; foot lift and place with hands having short load back starting to turn the barrel. Quicker turn of the barrel getting on plane and working on a slightly upward path as he keeps the hands tight to the body. Timing was inconsistent, but when he found it was able to lift balls to the middle of the field (79 EV).
