Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Positional Profile: OF/LHP Body: 6-1, 190-pounds. Strong athletic build with long arms. Hit: LHH. Sets up tall and upright with an even base in stance. Longer but smooth stroke. Gets his hands away from his body. The barrel is lifted through the zone for a more uphill path. Is extended through the ball at finish. Pull side tendencies. Power: 89 mph exit velocity. Filled the RC gap with LD's in BP. Rotational acceleration average of 15.9 g's shows the potential for more power in the future. Arm: LH. OF - 79 mph. Short arm action out of the over the top slot. Threw the ball on a more upward angle and they flashed carry. Mostly accurate throws. Defense: Comfortable actions in the OF fielding to both sides. Fielded the balls in rhythm and with momentum towards the target. Run: 7.63 runner in the 60.

Outfield
OC Preseason All-State. This is our first look at McAlister in this type of setting. Has large, proportional, athletic frame with long arms and legs. Clocked a good 60 time for his length and is a better runner underway. Setup is tall in the box with slightly open stance. Hands are positioned high and separated from body, allowing him to be short and drop the barrel to the down and in pitch which he was able to drive. Hand load is minimal to none. If McAlister made a small adjustment to get some momentum with his hands back on his load, we could see an uptick in power. Defensively he showed well in the outfield with proper fielding mechanics and footwork. Arm is a tic above average with carry. Arm slot is directly over-the-top and throws were online often one hopping the glove.

Pitching
Orange County Preseason All-State - slim athletic pitchers build in a 6-foot-1 180 pound frame. Some funk to his overall mechanics with point and shoot upper body action. Fastball touched 85 mph with downward tilt and showed the ability to locate to both sides of the plate but lost velocity with a pause in the back. Curveball broke on an 11/5 plane with tilt and good spin but inconsistent release point led to command issues. Change-up showed a good speed differential at 67-71 mph with sink and fade. Mechanical issues need some tinkering but the body shows potential for growth and projection and could make this left-hander a viable pitching option.
