Positional Profile: LHP/LHP A projectable lefty with a smooth, deceptive delivery and a three-pitch mix headlined by a riding fastball and a quality changeup.
Body: 5-10, 165.4-pounds. Projectable frame with room to fill. Pitcher build.
Delivery: Smooth delievery with efforless actions. Rides the slope well, creating deception towards the hitter. Body explodes at front foot strike with energy going towards the catcher.
Arm Action: LH. High 3/4 slot with a repeatable arm swing. Generates arm speed late.
FB: T86, 83-85 mph. FB has true ride up in the zone. Strong vertical ride at 19in with some horizontal movement. Has feel for the pitch in the zone. T2405, 2294 average rpm.
CB: 70-72 mph. Tighter and late CB that tunnels with the FB. T2214, 2171 average rpm.
CH: 79-79 mph. Strong feel for the CH. Quality pitch that fades down and away from RHH. True out pitch. T1576, 1576 average rpm.
Positional Profile: LHP/LHP Starter profile with high upside that is really starting to come into his own.
Body: 5-10, 165-pounds. Sturdy build with a clear physical projection ahead as he matures.
Delivery: Utilizes a pronounced high leg kick that helps him gather momentum early. Keeps the glove set high at the chest throughout the move, creating a tall, upright look before driving down the mound. Lower-half drive is still developing, but he stays controlled and repeats the motion consistently.
Arm Action: LH. Works from a high 3/4 slot with a full-circle arm swing that builds speed as it comes through. Long release and full extension out front allow him to create carry and finish with a complete, loose follow-through.
FB: T85, 82-85 mph. Features late life through the zone with above-average spin characteristics. Stays firm and shows promising ride. T2233, 2033 average rpm.
CB: 68-71 mph. Offers loose, later movement with some developing sweep. Shows flashes of sharper horizontal action. T2149, 2084 average rpm.
CH: 75-75 mph. Effective offering with late, deceptive drop. Has the potential to be a reliable change-of-pace option. T2255, 2255 average rpm.
ATH: 15.80 max vertical.
CJ Gamradt, Harvard-Westlake (CA), 2028
Positional Profile: LHP/LHP
Body: 5-8, 157-pounds. Stalky, long lower half frame with room to fill.
Delivery: High leg kick. Glove kept high at chest level. Upright windup with low drive.
Arm Action: LH. 3/4 arm slot. Full circle arm path. Long release with full follow-through.
FB: T82, 80-82 mph. Shows late life with good spin. T2307, 2237 average rpm.
CB: 66-69 mph. Flat with lots of horizontal movement. T2341, 2045 average rpm.
SL: 70-72 mph. Loose movement. Decent horizontal action. T2182, 1536 average rpm.
CH: 70-73 mph. Late, deceptive dive. Pairs well with FB. T1197, 1129 average rpm.
Gamradt came in being the only LHP of the event and made a strong impression on the mound as a southpaw with a clean delivery and feel for spin. Working in the 80–82 mph range and topping at 82.3, he pairs his FB with a developing offspeed arsenal that includes a CH at 70–73 mph and a CB with late break at 66–69, spinning at 2045 rpm. His CH was by far his best pitch featuring late dive and legitimate strikeout material. His ability to mix speeds and tunnels gives him an edge in what could be an ability to keep hitters off balance. Though still early in his development, Gamradt’s natural pitchability and poise on the mound gives him all the confidence to improve heading into his sophomore year.
