Maryland Preseason All-State Session II

Body: 5’9’’, 155 pounds. Lean, athletic frame with some muscle present; the feel for his body is evident in the movements.
Hit: LHH. Upright, slightly open stance with the hands starting straight up and down at the shoulder. Utilized a leg hang with good control on the way through unleashing a twitchy and whippy, flat path into the hitting zone. Above-average barrel awareness present with some juice to the pull-side when catching it out in front; mainly middle of the field approach from gap to gap. Impressive weight transfer into a stiff front side and showcased advanced swing mechanics featuring repeatability and quickness (short A to B path). This, coupled with solid bat to ball skills (53% line drive rate via Trackman) will make him a very tough out as he continues maturing.
Power: 86 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Doubles power with high intent in the box though he profiles as a top of the order table setter at the moment.
Arm: RH. OF - 85 mph. Quick arm through an over the top slot, good extension on the front side and accuracy at head level.
Defense: Above-average defensive profile playing low to the ground with range in either direction. Plays quicker than the 60-time would suggest, can handle any of the three outfield positions, though he might have a home in CF with the body type, game he brings to the table. Trusted a soft glove hand off the left side of his body with quality pace during his defensive evaluation.
Run: 7.04 60-yard time.

PBR Future Games

Compact athletic frame at 5-foot-9, 155-pounds. Offensively Killen had a very strong showing at the Future Games. Killen hit .429 for Team Mid-Atlantic and showed a high offensive IQ with barrel awareness and ability to work counts. Killen primarily got pitched away during his at bats and he showed patience in his approach going the other way numerous times. Defensively Killen is more than likely going to stay in left field and center field long term and plays the game quicker than his 7.14 60 time. He gets out of the box well and plays the game hard at all times. He is going to be a guy that hits for high average, high on base percentage, and possesses some sneaky doubles power in both gaps.

VA/DC Limited Series East

Strong physical frame for a 2023 with some athleticism. Athletic squatty open set up. High hands with flat bat in stance. Short quick load with short movements with hands and a leg lift to square. Strong hands, gets around the ball now with some bat speed but shows strength to pull side. On the mound Hocker has some intrigue. Normal effort delivery and lands slightly ope at foot strike. Works from a high three-quarter arm slot with a fastball that has some downhill plane at times. The fastball sat 77-78 mph and touched 80-81 one time each. Breaking ball played well with a bigger 12/6 shape at 65-67 mph and garnered multiple swings and misses. Is a bit raw and unpolished, but has the physical tools to make him an interesting follow.

Preseason All-State Session III

Positional Profile: OF/SS
Body: 5’8”, 150 pounds. Athletic
Hit: LHH. Hits from a balanced, slightly open stance form the left side. Small leg kick load and compact slightly uphill swing. Showed quick hands and fast bat speed through the zone. Stays behind the ball well with good balance and gets nice extension past contact. Generates some lower half involvement and finishes swing with one hand. Gap-to-gap line drive type hitter with pop.
Power: 81 mph exit velocity from the tee. Power to the alleys with more projected.
Arm: RH. INF - 83 mph. Throws with short arm action from a high three-quarter slot.
Defense: Plays through the ball in the outfield with fundamental footwork and fields it out in front on the glove hand side.
Run: 3.90 home-to-first time.

DeliveryStarts with a quick rocker side step, into a chest high leg kick. Delivery was fluid and overall athleticism was present during all portions. Low effort with the delivery, with above average torque out of his lower half. Glove separation was on time and in line with his delivery. Ended in a good, athletic fielding position.
Arm ActionRH. Throws down hill out of a mid three-quarter arm slot.
FB: T79 mph, 76-79 mph. Deceptive action and release point.
CB: 65-67 mph. Tight, 11/5 shape.
CH: 69-70 mph. Thrown infrequently but with fade.

MD Preseason All State

Solid athletic frame at 5-foot-8, 145-pounds. Hits from the left side with a square stance. Small pick up and put down landing on line, hands load back with bat going vertical at separation, and was short to the ball. Bat plane had some uphill tilt to it and used the middle of the field well, staying on the ball through extension. Exit velo was 79 mph. Feet were choppy on approach as he broke down pre-catch. Clean exchange with a longer arm action and throws from a high three-quarter arm slot. Positional velocity was 82 mph. Home-1st time was 4.25.
