Notes

Comments

5/25/19-  Big strong athletic frame at 6 foot 2 inches and 196 pounds. Very loose and clean arm action. Sitting 88-91 with the fastball and 75-76 whit his 12-6 curveball. Has some issues throwing strikes consistently, but when he works on a downhill plane it tends to be more consistent with his mechanics. Has the potential to be in the mid- 90’s he gets his mechanics more repeatable and has his upper and lower half working together.

2/13/19 - Florida Gulf Coast commit. 6-foot-2, 196-pound left-handed pitcher, durable frame, strength throughout. Arm works long and slow on back-side, accelerates quickly over the top, high ¾ slot. Repeatable side-step delivery, tall and fall, works on-line, lands square, finishes crossing over. Fastball sat 82-84, armside life. Curveball, 1/7 shape, late bite, 78-82. Changeup, fade action, 75-79.

12/09/18 - Florida Gulf Coast commit, currently ranked No. 58 in FL and No. 340 Overall. 6-foot-2, 190-pound left-handed pitcher, strong frame, wide shoulders, room for continued physical development. Has been up to 89 in the past, during this particular bullpen session fastball sat 83-84 with armside life. Breaking ball, maintains arm speed and slot, disguises well, 1/7 shape, late action, swing and miss type pitch, 69 mph.

08/04/18- Uncommitted, listed a 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, he has a very lean, athletic and projectable frame that continues to add strength. Showing extremely strong early in his outing, the command faltered some later, but overall showed a huge upside. He has an extremely, easy and clean 3/4 arm action. The fastball worked 87-89 mph early and has easy life. He also would show a slider that showed above average with upside at 73-75 mph and a changeup at 80-81 mph. Miller would strike out two in his three innings of work. Overall, the arm talent is extremely high and as he continues to log innings he has an extremely high ceiling.

01/27/18- Uncommitted. Tall frame with projection standing at 6-foot-2, 185 pounds. Throws out of the ¾ slot creating some deception with a crossfire delivery. Fastball mostly worked at 82-84 mph with run along with a 68-72 mph slider with sweeping action, throwing it for strikes. Struck out three in his two innings of work. Threw a high percentage of strikes and attacked both sides of the plate, working down in the zone.

11/12/17- Tall, projectable frame standing at 6-foot-2, 185 pounds. Throws out of the ¾ slot with a simple windup. Fastball mostly sat in the 82-84 mph range with run along with a 68-69 mph curveball that was tight and showed good shape when he got on top of it. Didn’t show his usual command of the zone we’ve seen in the past, but the stuff is there and knows how to pitch. Miller will be a good follow for the upcoming spring as he continues to add to his frame which will lead to a continued uptick in velocity.

09/30/17- At 6-foot-2, 175 pound, the lefty has a long limbs on a very projectable prototypical pitcher frame. Throwing from a true 3/4 slot, he says balanced and lands in line. Staying tall over the backside, he could see some more jumps in velocity as he adds strength and gets add leg drive. He has made a nice jump since January, now working 82-84 mph with  his fastball with much more to come. He shows a curveball with some quality shape and potential at 66-67 mph and a feel for a fading changeup at 77-78 mph. There is a high upside and is trending in the right direction on the mound.

01/21/17- The 6-foot-1, 165-pound LHP/1B has long limbs and lean frame with plenty of room to fill out. On the mound, he has a short arm swing releasing out of a ¾ slot. Fastball was 75-78 mph, but he can really pitch, and will make a jump with added strength and innings which will make him a player to watch. Curveball took 2/8 shape at 63-64 mph and was very tight and overall a good pitch. Also threw a changeup at 70 mph. Lanky and tall with a baby face. Offensively, the left handed hitter shows an opposite field approach with a feel for the barrel. There is some length and steepness, but still generated an exit velocity of 80 mph. Overall, shows potential on both sides of the ball, but will be very interesting to see how big of a jump he makes on the mound as he continues to log innings.

12/15/16- Long-limbed, projectable build on a 6-foot-1, 165-pound frame. Showed a good approach at the plate with rhythm and balance. Made consistent contact. On the mound he had a crossfire delivery where his fastball sat 75-76 mph, a changeup at 68-69 mph, and a loopy curveball at 60-61 mph.
