LHP Talan Bell (Hagerty HS, FL), a recent Clemson commit, finished things up for the Braves, working the final two innings. With an athletic delivery and quick arm, the 5-foot-10 lefty ran his fastball up to 93 mph, sitting 91-92. He also showed good feel for spinning an upper-70s slider while subtracting velo and killing spin on his low-80s changeup (1,800 rpm).

Bell has remained the cream of the crop in this class since the first time we saw him two years ago. A polished left hander continues to make the jumps we expected from him. Upper 80’s from the left side with feel to spin the breaking ball. Athleticism as a two-way with the ability to swing it from the left side as well.
8/20/20
The Florida State commit carries himself like a professional, showing mature actions all around. During his bullpen Bell was about 60% throwing only FB and CH. Commanded both sides of the plate, FB was up to 86 mph with ease. CH was 76 mph, circle change action, showed above average control for pitch.

Athletic 5-foot-9, 150 pound LHP/OF. At the plate, the hands are loose and stay through the ball. Short leg kick creates rhythm in the swing. Pull-side hitter. Moves athletically in the outfield and plays through the ball with throws of 82 mph to home. Soft hands at first with throws of 83 mph across the diamond. Simple delivery on the mound. Comes from a ¾ arm slot. Fastball worked 79-81 mph. Mixed in a slider at 69-71 mph and changeup at 74-76 mph. Loose, live arm and while still young, there are a lot of present tools to like.
