Georgia Commit. Sharman added another dominant outing to an impressive Sophomore season to this point. Matthew went complete game shutout in the class 6A Elite 8 against Tift County. Sharman was in control the whole game keeping hitters guessing with his 3 pitch mix and racking up double digit strikeouts. The FB was up to 91 while sitting 87-89 most of the outing. Sharman was able to grab 91 a couple times in the 7th. Sharman was able to throw off speed pitches in hitters counts and getting whiffs out of the zone. This physical RHH has been impressive up to this point and will look to help lead Etowah to a State Championship.

The top two-way player in the 2026 class continues to look polished beyond his years with a sky-high ceiling to match. It starts with the operation on the mound where Sharman shows advanced body control while getting downhill with plus extension. Fastball up to 92 in this outing, living 88-91 over a strong 6.0 IP. Shows command to land to both sides of the plate paired with sharp arm-side run for in-zone misses. Mixed in a pair of breaking balls in this outing with a curveball at 75-77 with depth that worked well on the inner half to right-handed hitters and high-70s sweeper that created swing and miss to both sides. Changeup is a budding above-average pitch out of the same fastball tunnel at 79-81 with arm-side fade and depth. The sophomore picked up more barrels at the plate as well coming through with multiple big hits for the Eagles over the week. Present bat speed and feel for the barrel in an advanced approach allows the Georgia commit to find loud contact in the zone regularly. Sharman will be a nation-wide name as he develops into one of the most well-rounded players in the class.

In one of the better two-way showings of the weekend, Sharman was electric for Etowah in the midst of their 3-0 showing. Batting cleanup throughout, the Georgia commit was all over the barrel consistently in an all-fields approach. Sharman does an excellent job staying balanced and matching plane with a compact right-handed stroke that boasts present above-average bat speed and barrel feel. The sophomore came through with RBI knocks to both the pull-side and backside on the weekend. On the other side, Sharman came in relief on the mound in a big matchup against Walton, and may have been even more impressive. With an attacking demeanor, the 6-foot-3, 205-pound right-hander filled up the zone with both strikes and in-zone misses from a three-pitch mix. Fastball lived 88-91 while grabbing 92 twice with excellent carry through the zone. Mid-to-high 70s slider creates good tilt and horizontal movement for whiffs. Changeup flashed as an above-average pitch with great arm-side fade that was devastating to left-handed hitters at 78-80. It was a standout performance for Sharman overall.
