USC Aiken Commit. Bryant had an active day behind the plate, picking runners and handling the pitchers well. Bryant also had a loud day at the plate catching multiple barrels and working counts well. Payton shows a quick barrel through the zone matching plane well. He shows the ability to hit for power to all parts of the field. Bryant is a fun player to watch both at the plate and catching behind the plate.

Hit: RHH. Open, crouching setup, hanging leg kick timing trigger, hands start with barrel on shoulder, load back into a near arm bar, some balance. Swing path has some length to it, at-times a C shape, especially low in the zone, levels barrel out and is quick to the zone on pitches up, line drive type hitter, middle approach.
Power: 88.6 max exit velocity, averaged 82.4 mph. 315’ max distance.
Arm: RH. C - 77 mph. Short, loose arm action with some load on the back-side, good carry and accuracy.
Defense: 2.00-2.08 pop times. Receives well with a good base, flexible in lower half, clean footwork, mostly quick and clean on exchanges, can get long at-times.
