5/31/14 - Currently ranked No. 94 in Illinois’ 2016 class.  5-foot-11, 165-pound frame, may not grow much more, but extremely athletic.  Impressed at the plate and in the field on Saturday.  Offensively, crushed an 88 mph Latz offering up the middle that scooted past the center fielder and all the way to the wall in first at bat for an RBI triple.  Ran 12.4 on the standup triple, pulling up late, showing off speed that has produced 4.12-4.2 times down the line from the right side.  Hits from slightly open stance with hands held high.  Hit .312 on the year with more walks than strikeouts.  Defensively, showcased great hands on two hard hit short hop balls to his right, both times he backhanded, once going down to his right knee to pick the baseball cleanly.  Both were not easy plays and he made them look routine, showing off above average arm strength with good carry across the diamond.  In pregame, shows good lateral quickness, and quality body control on run-through play.  Hands are quick on double play transfer as well.  Impressive that his ability at short allows Lincoln-Way West to save Luke Morgan’s arm by playing him in center field.

4/1/14 - Knerr impressed at short replacing Morgan when he went in to pitch.  5’-foot-11 athletic, fast twitch frame. Singled in his first at bat off an Orbik curveball. Showed the ability to track pitches deep. Patient, open-stanced approach. Defensively showed smooth actions, attacking ground ball and carrying throw to first.
